Arrived to find a very personable front desk person and an extremely clean room! We arrived a bit early and he accommodated us quickly! Breakfast area was fairly well stocked and the lady there was very nice on morning number one. They had one waffle maker and on day two, my cousins waffle was sticking! She went to make a second one for her daughter when the breakfast lady started to berate us for using the non-stick spray that was clearly sitting there to be used! On morning three, breakfast lady wouldn’t allow us to make our own waffle! She would make it for us. It was great having access to hot water for tea anytime we wanted. Bath towels were very limited in my room but front desk immediately gave me an extra towel when I asked for one. I thought the towels were of decent quality! Plenty of hot water and good pressure as well! Bed and pillows were very comfy! Good stay!

Our room was wonderful!! I had booked two queens and a pull out couch and expected the usual fare. Surprise! This room had a separate bedroom with the two queens and a spacious ”living room” with a pullout, table and chairs, kitchen counter, frig, plus a bath and a half and a jet tub!! One negative: the guy at the desk was reluctant to get us extra blankets and sheets for the kids who are not used to sharing and for me as I hate duvets. Kids appreciated the large indoor pool and I appreciated the hot tub as some hotels have done away with that amenity that is welcome after a tough day on the road. Plus this was the least expensive hotel we stayed in during the week we were gone! It does take a little maneuvering through town to get here and the hotel seems to attract a lot of construction crews. My daughter-in-law chose not to do her early morning run in the neighborhood at this hotel. Breakfast is the usual fare but it's great to have hot, non-COVID selections.

This place was better than staying at Rocky Gap’s hotel. It’s only 11 miles away. Less than 15 minutes because of route68. Price is cheaper & includes breakfast. Beautiful pool & friendly staff. Many places to eat on the same road

Had a great stay the weekend of 10/7-10/9. I didn't get the gentleman's name who was working the front desk the late morning of 10/7 and the morning of 10/9. He was by far the most helpful, friendly and gracious Front Desk person i have encountered in my 60 years of life. Scott at the breakfast area was attentive and kept things spotless and the food fresh! I will be back in November and hope that my experience is just as pleasant. The only thing I would suggest is to remind guests on the upper floors that they need to walk a little lighter or not bang on the floors as there are people trying to sleep in the floor below them

I drove out to Cumberland to get my driver's license renewed at their MVA. As it was a 2 and a half hour drive for me and didn't want to take a chance on traffic the day of my appointment with MVA (it was in the morning), I drove out in the evening and stayed 1 night here. When I arrived, I found plenty of parking spaces so no problems there. My check in went very smoothly and, I found the receptionist very courteous and helpful. When I got to my room, I found a sticker sealing it that said the room had been sanitized. When I entered the room, I found it immaculate and tastefully decorated. The room had a single cup Keurig machine with 2 Green Mountain coffee k-cups and a Bigelow English Breakfast Tea k-cup. I'd heard every room has a Keurig machine and had brought a couple of my own to take advantage of it. I tried the hotel's free Wi-Fi and found it worked fine. The hotel offers a free breakfast and I decided to try it out the next morning. Some items like the omelets and sausage were served by a courteous masked and gloved food server. Others, patrons could get themselves. Social distancing was in force but, I was the only one in the dining room so, this wasn't an issue. Overall, I found the free breakfast pretty good. When it came time for check out, it went equally smoothly. And, I was on my way within 5 minutes. Overall, I was really pleased with this Holiday Day Inn Express. My rate was $85 for the night which I thought was a good deal. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're staying in the Cumberland area.

I can't fathom all the 5 star reviews here, I guess it would be 5 stars if you reviewed on location only. We are Marriott members and stay at Marriotts any time we travel so when I saw a Marriott in town it was a no brainer for us. We came into town to ride the train and there couldn't be a better hotel location to do so. There is a nice paved path all the way over to the train station approx .3 miles from the hotel. It is also walking distance to downtown for dining and shopping. There is also the Dig Deep Brewery one parking lot over so location is absolutely 5 Stars. The lobby Area has been updated and the front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel was busy and sold out the weekend we stayed. The downfall was the actual room, which was in my opinion deplorable for Marriott Standards,Room #428 to be exact, the only updated thing was the carpet, which appeared newer, but was already fraying at the door threshold. The bathroom was terrible, it looks like someone sprayed soda all over the wall, there was a big stain on the shower curtain, there were stains on the regular window drapes, the wall paper was peeling off, the chair was dusty and dirty and the furniture was all beat up. I was just shocked that Marriott has let the interior condition of the rooms go like this. I can deal with outdated rooms but cleanliness can happen even in a dated room. I am only giving 3 stars because this is a superb location if visiting Cumberland but the rooms are 1 star.
