This was our stop over on our way from Orlando to Dallas, so we were really looking forward to a good night's sleep. It was in a good location with nearby restaurants and grocery store. We felt safe keeping our locked moving truck on the property. Room was large and comfortable with a good hot shower with good pressure. We spoke with Gregory before and after booking. He was so friendly, informative and helpful. On arrival Tim was great for check in. Small vending area available. A good experience.

We spent four nights at the Holiday Inn downtown Alexandria. The description on Priceline said it was a brand new hotel and it definitely wasn’t new but it had been updated and was clean. When we got to our room we noticed it was missing the desk and chair that is shown in the photos and also listed as an amenity. There was a mirror on the wall like it was centered to hang over something, like a desk, but no where to be found. We asked the staff downstairs about it and they didn’t know it was missing but she said she would try to get us one. A few minutes later a nice man knocked on the door and he has a swivel chair. We were grateful for that and asked if a desk was coming too. He says, “you don’t have a desk?” And is looking past me to see and he was obviously surprised and had no clue what was going on. He didn’t think he had anymore and apologized. The next morning housekeeping came around and my husband just asked her if she knew anything about our missing desk and she said she would make a few calls and in less than five minutes someone was there at the door with a desk! Promote this young lady, she makes things happen! We ordered from the restaurant once and the hamburgers were very very good. Breakfast buffet was good and about $10.99 I think. This isn’t a Holiday Inn Express, there is no free breakfast.

this is a great location! I stay here approx 4x a year while in town for business. It’s centrally located near all restaurants and shops in Alexandria. It’s always clean, employees and friendly. It is in need of some updating. My visit this week I noticed lots of wallpaper fraying, dirtier than usual carpeting and chips off of walls and floor boards. I did hear the front desk staff say something about how they will be painting soon. My shower had the most heavenly water pressure! It was so strong it was like getting a water massage! So random but I loved it. See you in a few months!

For the most part, the hotel was updated and comfortable. There were a couple of problems. This hotel was the host hotel for a Conference with probably 250-300 people. There were only 2 ice machines and one of them did not work. Upon arrival, we discovered that our phone in the room did not work. It was reported immediately and when we checked out 2 days later, it still did not work. To me this was a safety issue that should have been addressed immediately.

I had a great stay, staff were awesome and so helpful. The hotel itself isn't brand new but it's kept well. Very close to anything you need to get to in town. There is someone on the property that will help you to your room or if you need some assistance. I really appreciated that as I'm disabled, the young man carried my bags to the room. The desk clerk checked on us as well after checking in to make sure we settled in ok. I'd stay here again.

My family stayed at Candlewood Suites due to my father having surgery at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Elaine greeted me when I went to check in and was very helpful in putting my brother's room (separate reservation) across the hall from my room. Then, the next day when I needed to get a room for my sister and her family Elaine was again very helpful in getting their room close to the rest of the family and even letting them check in early. We couldn't have asked for a nicer person in Elaine. The rooms were very clean and had no issues.

I am staying at the Comfort Inn with my two daughters for one night on the way to pick up my son from camp in the morning. I’ve stayed in a lot of choice hotels and this one is pretty mediocre. First the check in person basically just handed me my key and sign in sheet with no explanation. I knew to initial and sign but others may not have. If there is WiFi she didn’t offer a code, she did not even tell me what floor the room was on or where the elevator is located. When we went to the room the pool was very crowded so we decided to go to dinner. When we returned around 8 it was still full so we waited another 1/2 hour. By about 8:30 the pool was pretty open but it was murky and dirty and there were still a lot of people hanging around. . My girls went in anyway and while we were at the pool it appeared that many of the people who were using the pool were not even guests at the hotel. There is a gate that leads directly to the parking lot and it was wide open. A bunch of people left through that gate directly from the pool area and got in cars and drove off. This was the most concerning thing about the stay. If the hotel is full with families and kids it’s understandable that the pool area gets overwhelmed. But if there are non guests using the pool this is a problem as well as a safety issue. Anyone can walk right into the pool and the hotel. The rooms were average and had a funny smell. The bathroom was smallish and had water stains on the ceiling. I paid a little less than I normally do for a Comfort Inn or Suites but it still isn’t worth the price.

We just want to take the opportunity to thank this hotel -- La Quinta - Alexandria LA for their superb hospitality during our stay. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Our room was wonderful and very comfortable to sleep in. A special shout out to Alexis Culbreth, night auditor at La Quinta who went above the call of duty to make this stay an unforgettable one in the most pleasant way. Alexis was so professional and compassionate in her greeting us as we walked in at 2am in the morning after being on the highway for over 14 hours. Alexis demonstrated that she is truly compassionate in her work and that she is committed in providing quality customer service at the highest level. She took time to share all the good features of the hotel and showed she was a true team player. I'd like to keep this place a secret so I can be assured I will always have a place to stay but that would be just plain selfish. If you ever in the area of Alexandria LA check this hotel out. Great hotel and most of Great Great People. Thank you Alexis for a job well done!

We were just passing through so it was a one night stay. The hotel is in need of a serious renovation. The paint was peeling and falling off while showering and carpet was old. Not a hotel you think Hilton would be proud of putting it's name on. The positive side is the employees. They were so friendly! Front desk was awesome and the breakfast attendant was ready to help with whatever you needed. This is the only reason it got a 3 star! The hotel itself would have scored a one star but the employees made the stay better!

My trip to Alexandria, La was supposed to be a short one. We had planned on getting a room for the night and leave the next morning. The Comfort Suites front desk receptionist Sommer made the difference in our stay. She handled herself in a professional manner and was very courteous to an otherwise road weary couple who had just driven 10 hours straight from Northwest Arkansas. We normally don't do reviews, but we had to give a much appreciated shout out to Sommer and the rest of her the staff. From now on whenever we go back to Alexandria, we know where we will be staying now on. Thank you

It was reported immediately and when we checked out 2 days later, it still did not work. To me this was a safety issue that should have been addressed immediately.

I am staying at the Comfort Inn with my two daughters for one night on the way to pick up my son from camp in the morning. I’ve stayed in a lot of choice hotels and this one is pretty mediocre. First the check in person basically just handed me my key and sign in sheet with no explanation. I knew to initial and sign but others may not have. If there is WiFi she didn’t offer a code, she did not even tell me what floor the room was on or where the elevator is located. When we went to the room the pool was very crowded so we decided to go to dinner. When we returned around 8 it was still full so we waited another 1/2 hour. By about 8:30 the pool was pretty open but it was murky and dirty and there were still a lot of people hanging around. . My girls went in anyway and while we were at the pool it appeared that many of the people who were using the pool were not even guests at the hotel. There is a gate that leads directly to the parking lot and it was wide open. A bunch of people left through that gate directly from the pool area and got in cars and drove off. This was the most concerning thing about the stay. If the hotel is full with families and kids it’s understandable that the pool area gets overwhelmed. But if there are non guests using the pool this is a problem as well as a safety issue. Anyone can walk right into the pool and the hotel. The rooms were average and had a funny smell. The bathroom was smallish and had water stains on the ceiling. I paid a little less than I normally do for a Comfort Inn or Suites but it still isn’t worth the price.

Elaine greeted me when I went to check in and was very helpful in putting my brother's room (separate reservation) across the hall from my room. Then, the next day when I needed to get a room for my sister and her family Elaine was again very helpful in getting their room close to the rest of the family and even letting them check in early. We couldn't have asked for a nicer person in Elaine. The rooms were very clean and had no issues.

We spent four nights at the Holiday Inn downtown Alexandria. The description on Priceline said it was a brand new hotel and it definitely wasn’t new but it had been updated and was clean. When we got to our room we noticed it was missing the desk and chair that is shown in the photos and also listed as an amenity. There was a mirror on the wall like it was centered to hang over something, like a desk, but no where to be found. We asked the staff downstairs about it and they didn’t know it was missing but she said she would try to get us one. A few minutes later a nice man knocked on the door and he has a swivel chair. We were grateful for that and asked if a desk was coming too. He says, “you don’t have a desk?” And is looking past me to see and he was obviously surprised and had no clue what was going on. He didn’t think he had anymore and apologized. The next morning housekeeping came around and my husband just asked her if she knew anything about our missing desk and she said she would make a few calls and in less than five minutes someone was there at the door with a desk! Promote this young lady, she makes things happen! We ordered from the restaurant once and the hamburgers were very very good. Breakfast buffet was good and about $10.99 I think. This isn’t a Holiday Inn Express, there is no free breakfast.

We were just passing through so it was a one night stay. The hotel is in need of a serious renovation. The paint was peeling and falling off while showering and carpet was old. Not a hotel you think Hilton would be proud of putting it's name on. The positive side is the employees. They were so friendly! Front desk was awesome and the breakfast attendant was ready to help with whatever you needed. This is the only reason it got a 3 star! The hotel itself would have scored a one star but the employees made the stay better!

this is a great location! I stay here approx 4x a year while in town for business. It’s centrally located near all restaurants and shops in Alexandria. It’s always clean, employees and friendly. It is in need of some updating. My visit this week I noticed lots of wallpaper fraying, dirtier than usual carpeting and chips off of walls and floor boards. I did hear the front desk staff say something about how they will be painting soon. My shower had the most heavenly water pressure! It was so strong it was like getting a water massage! So random but I loved it. See you in a few months!

My trip to Alexandria, La was supposed to be a short one. We had planned on getting a room for the night and leave the next morning. The Comfort Suites front desk receptionist Sommer made the difference in our stay. She handled herself in a professional manner and was very courteous to an otherwise road weary couple who had just driven 10 hours straight from Northwest Arkansas. We normally don't do reviews, but we had to give a much appreciated shout out to Sommer and the rest of her the staff. From now on whenever we go back to Alexandria, we know where we will be staying now on. Thank you
