Hotel Ivory Playa Sports & Spa

Great hotel - all staff were very friendly and it was kept very clean throughout. The children loved the entertainment (kids club in the morning, afternoon and evening disco). Late March so it was not full - mostly German families and a lots of cyclists so it cleared out during the day. 2 decent sized pools but only the one heated one was warm enough. We stayed in a garden room which meant the children could play outside in full view - well worth the extra cost. Loads of food options for breakfast and dinner - including veggie options. Not top quality food but fine for a 3 star hotel. Easy bus ride to the centre and several car rentals within walking distance. Beach is 50 metres away and is great for families. Thoroughly recommend.

Excellent staff throughout the hotel. Slight issue with our room on arrival but this was rectified by staff by moving us to a new room. Pool area was lovely. Food at pool bar was nice. Bus service to port was efficient, alternatively it was a gentle walk taking about 25 mins.

This hotel surpassed our expectations. It’s location is brilliant. 5 mins from the beach, supermarket across the road, 5 mins from the nearest bus stop, which makes it really easy to explore the area as the buses are frequent and easy to use by tapping on and off with your card (cheaper than paying cash) just don’t try to use the buses at peak times (Sunday and Tuesday being the worst days) it gets so busy that the buses don’t stop due to too many passengers. We did manage to get the bus on a Sunday however to the market in Alcudia old town and it was well worth it, I’d advise you to get up as early as possible and don’t leave the old town at lunch time. The rooms were spacious, clean and equipped with everything we needed also the cleaners were really good. We we’re a little disappointed that we’d payed extra for a sea view but ended up with a palm tree view instead but it didn’t spoil the holiday. The gym is a lot smaller than it appears in the pictures and you need to book into it at reception. The pools were excellent. Very clean and a good temperature. The staff at the pool bar were fantastic, they came round to check if you needed drinks which is something we haven’t had at some 5 star resorts we’ve stayed at! The same on a night time too. Bar staff and animation staff worked so hard in this hotel and it really did make a difference and the reception staff were very professional and friendly. The food at the pool bar was really nice but can’t comment on the restaurant as we didn’t eat there. You can hire towels from reception for the pool or beach if you don’t want to take your own. The entertainment was some of the best we’ve seen at any hotel we stayed at except one band called Havana which seemed to just be there for a joke, but the Tina Turner tribute was one of the best tributes I’ve seen for a long time. Overall I was really impressed with this hotel, it was far better than we had expected it to be and we had a lovely holiday.

Fantastic hotel with great facilities. Pool area nice with very approachable and helpful staff. Good entertainment during the day and night. Rooms are spacious and well equipped (sofa beds were extremely comfortable for the children) ,nice big bathroom with a huge shower, small and well equipped kitchen area very practical, good size balcony with table and chairs. Only ate a couple of times in the hotel and food was fine. Very close to the beach. My only negative would be a little walk 5-10 minutes from the restaurants. Would definitely recommend and return to the Ivory playa!

A mixed review of this hotel. Great for families, not so great for couples. Good bits were nice swimming pools which were warm, nice bar area and able to eat outside, friendly staff, good entertainment by the in house team during the day, close to the beach and bus ride or walk along the sand to Port d’Alcudia. Taxi ride home was 9 euros but on final night one of them tried to charge 11 euros - needless to say we gave him 10 euros having advised previous charge all week. Not so good was the experience we had with getting a sun bed around the pool - towels, rubber rings, arm bands all reserving beds, lifeguard not helpful and at one stage was asleep by the poolside for about 30 mins. Complained to reception about reserving beds when clearly signs say not too, they agreed not acceptable and manager would speak to us but no contact made during our stay. We accept sun beds are often an issue but Ivory Playa - you need more of them! The hotel was noisy at night as well with room doors needing to be slammed shut. Eco flush not working and in the late afternoon room smelt of drains. Ate one day at the hotel - it was ok but not worth the additional cost. The notice by the pool had many ‘do nots’ but no notice was taken - no inflatables - lots of weird and wonderful inflatables in the pool - one day a full sized kayak and another day a stand up paddle board! No balls - at least 3 ball games in each pool making it difficult to enjoy the pool having to dodge them. No reserving sun beds - already mentioned but often saw people at the beach who then returned to the hotel in the afternoon having put towels on sun beds for 4-5 hours in the morning. No one to go in the pool if they have infectious disease - let’s not even go there! Finally I would say great for families who want a lovely pool for their kids who can glide around on inflatables and throw balls to each other. If you’re a couple then I would probably go for adults only - we thought we would try a non-adult hotel with it being school term time but most of children were school age. Sadly not a hotel we will return to.

Holiday was great and Hotel was in perfect location, Majorca is the place to go, great weather and fabulous beaches. Plenty Restaurants nearby and lots of entertainment, taxi charges are reasonable if you want to venture out and see the sights

We returned with friends as we last visited in 2019, everything seems the same which is pleasing. We booked room only in a spacious apartment it was overlooking a busy road which didnt bother us at all its worth noting that it gets the sun early afternoon. Apartment was spacious very clean well equiped, we had an issue with the patio door and it was fixed very promptly. We ate a couple of times in the restaurant and it was nice to be fair. The staff are the jewels in the crown here well done to everyone all very friendly! Its so close to the beach and away from all the busier parts of Alcudia.

Lovely family hotel with excellent friendly staff. We stayed in a top floor family apartment with a balcony view overlooking the swimming pool and sea & beach. Food was superb, cocktails by the pool went down very well. We would definitely like to return again very soon.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Hotel Ivory Playa Majorca, and plan on re-booking for next October Half-Term with our two children (10 and 13). We went with Jet2, but might book direct next time depending on prices. We were a bit nervous about this holiday as we've never been before and don't know anyone who has - so it was a bit of a wild card. We chose the hotel because of the positive reviews, and the proximity to a glorious beach, and we're so pleased we did. The hotel is lovely. All the staff are friendly, helpful and approachable, and it has the balanced of a relaxed feel, but with lots going on. We were staying in a Sea View Plus one bedroom apartment, and had a nice view of the sea. There's a stunning lake over the road from the hotel, and if you have a room on the top floor facing away from the sea you get to see the lake - we would have been very happy with this view too. The apartment was a good size for the four of us - we never felt cramped and it had all we needed. It was clean when we arrived and was cleaned daily - and the cleaners were always friendly and helpful. We stayed on a 'bed and breakfast' board, as we like to explore where we're staying and have dinner out each evening. The buffet breakfasts were fantastic. You can get fresh omelettes with whatever veg and ham/bacon you like, plus freshly made pancakes etc made by the chef as you wait! There was so much choice of fruits, yoghurt, cereals, breads and pastries - you couldn't ask for more. The entertainment team were friendly and approachable and did everything they could to make sure us and our children were having a good stay. There were 3 of them - Roberto, Valentina and Jordie (apologies if I have their names slightly wrong), and they ran lots of activities throughout the day such as football, darts, paddleboarding and shooting, and then ran the night shows/games activities. They made sure they learnt everyone's names and always greeted us by name when they saw us around. Sometimes there were visiting music and performance acts, and sometimes the ents team ran shows of their own, or games nights (bingo and quizzes). The three of them really are very talented performers! Considering it's the end of the season, each performance always felt full and buzzing, and they always had lots of people at each activity. The Spa is also lovely. We didn't have any treatments but did use the Spa pool which is a nice treat! We used the pools each day. The larger pool isn't heated, but the smaller one is. Both are popular, but not too busy that you feel like you're bumping into everyone. There's a lifeguard there all the time, and the bar area is open for food and drinks. The beach is so close to the hotel, and is the best beach we've ever been to. We loved snorkelling around the jetty and looking at the fish - it's such a nice safe beach for children too as the water is quite shallow.
