This hotel is absolutely beautiful & the staff were great! We stayed in a Double Room Sea View (breakfast included). The room was clean, had welcome refreshments and the view was amazing. Sleeping to the sound of the ocean was all I wanted. Breakfast had different options; same thing everyday but different options so you don’t have to eat the same thing everyday- I genuinely don’t get what some reviews are complaining about. I came with my husband and 9month baby. High chairs were made available at breakfast and restaurants. Cot was already made up when we got to the hotel. & they had a colouring set left out which was a cute touch. Staff was kind to us and our baby.. Tbh everyone, even the guests were kind to us. Husband uses crutches & he thought the hotels facility’s were accessible. There’s lifts & ramps which is good for people with buggies or disability. We came to celebrate my 30th & the hotel had prepared a lovely surprise when we got back in from our lunch. The overall service we received was great. Faro Airport is €24 & Old town €5 Euros by Uber. Rides were pretty cheap! We didn’t have a car seat but we found out that if you had a baby carrier then you could get into the Uber. The only thing is we came early March & the weather was just starting to get warm so we had some rainy days. But would definitely return again and recommend this place. If you’re thinking of booking it , I recommend Sea View & at least breakfast included.

This was a last minute booking through Hays Travel and it was very reasonable for ten days at Club Ouratantico in a one bedroom apartment. We arrived quite late at night and more or less went to bed straight away. In the morning when we had time to look around we were delighted with the apartment. It had a huge lounge with two single beds, Dining Table and four chairs, fully fitted Kitchen and television. The bedroom was very comfortable and plenty of hanging space and drawers. The chest of drawers was not very good and we mentioned this and a new set was put in the next day. The outdoor pool area is very nice with lots of loungers but the water was very cold, but this was to be expected in December. The indoor pool was heated and had a jacuzzi and sauna and we used this on a few occasions. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the apartment was cleaned and towels replaced every second day and the bed was changed half way through our holiday. There was a bath with overhead shower and there was always plenty of hot water. We had a lovely long balcony with two tables and four chairs and a dryer. However, we discovered the first morning we had a roof terrace with four loungers and this was amazing. As the weather was so good during our ten days we used this a lot. The apartments are very handy for The ***** and all the shops and restaurants and only a ten minute walk to Praia Oura beach although it is a very steep hill, okay going down but a bit of a slog coming back up. We would not hesitate in returning again and hope to do so in the future.

Luna Hotel da Oura

Albufeira|0.42km from Route Caffe 66
Hotel is lovely when you walk in the door but the rest of the hotel is dated. In need of a total revamp. Room is clean, and well equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and a dishwasher and all utensils but no condiments. A lot of noise from crowds of men banging on doors late at night and loud voices. There is a total of 5 plugs in the room, only one that worked and this was the one for the kettle the rest was hidden by furniture and likely the reason they are hidden they don’t work, so was a nightmare if you needed electric for any more than 1 plug. With a teenager it was torture. We were half board but food wasn’t great, selection was poor of 4 hot choices. Meatballs, chicken legs, pasta with sauce separate and a cod pie. Tried the restaurant twice and was the same options both times. So don’t waste your money on half board. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Clay oven which is Indian before you get to the ***** and Golden garden Chinese at the bottom of the *****. Both meals were fantastic. Pool has lots of sun loungers but pool was freezing, there is a shed with a vending machine as the bar. We tried the indoor pool which was pleasant as it is slightly warmer, but you are made to wear a shower cap that they supply costing 4 euros, don’t understand why as it isn’t waterproof and the hat supplied is far from flattering. ***** is 5 mins away and old town is a 25 min walk both pleasant walks. We made the best of our holiday and used the hotel as a base, I’ve been to Albuferia 6 times now and will come back but to a different hotel

At first glance, better than I expected, however, we find negative points with the course of the stay: the waiting time at reception is crazy, it seems a Portuguese public service. It is not acceptable that with so many guests there is only one person to take care of every time... The hotel's jacuzzi, which is included in the price, has ice water and only smoke 2 air outlets. So it is almost impossible to be. Nice but useless... In the pay-payed SPA, there are tb aspects to improve for that, because when paid and within a 4 stars, you cannot have doors to drag through the floor, for example, as you have in the women's toilet. Tb there are security doors that do not open in the bars what is very strange and the most strange is still not there is security equipment in the kitchen as an extinguisher or shelter as it has a fog. However, the reconstruction has been successful and I hope that these aspects will be improved quickly because I wanted to return to the hotel.

- Lovely cosy apartment, that looked even nicer and more modern than on the photos. - While not super big, the space has been very cleverly used and it felt like having my own mini home. - Kitchen is well equipped, so you can really use it to cook your own dinner (I just missed a colander to drain rice and vegetables, but I realise it must be impossible to cater for every individual guest's preferences). Enough pots, pans, cutlery, even a corkscrew and dishcloth are provided. No spices, oil or sponge though, so (quite understandably) you need to buy or bring a few things yourself. - Lovely balcony, sunny most of the day and I could even watch the sea from there. - Good location, as long as you're fine being near ”The Strip” (and not so near the old town). Very close to the beach. In a central but quiet location (at least in February, but my guess is that it's just far enough from the Strip to be reasonably quiet in busier months as well). About a 10 minute walk from Santa Eulalia bus stop from where you can take a bus to Faro (and other places on that route, such as Vilamoura and Quarteira). It's about a 40 minute walk to the main bus terminal. There's also a city bus, but I never really worked out that system (taxis are everywhere too and apparently not very expensive either). - Great value for money. I extended my stay by 2 more nights and certainly recommend this place. While I very much enjoyed my stay here, there are a few small things that could possibly still be improved. Those are really just small details though! - I'd suggest putting a few extra bin bags in the apartment. Cleaning takes place every 3 or 4 days, which is totally fine. But especially if guests cook in the apartment, the rubbish contains food rests and starts smelling after a few days. It's no problem to change the bag myself, but having a few extra bags in the room would be helpful. - There's an illuminated ”emergency exit” sign above the apartment's entrance door, on the inside the room. That's really annoying at night, because it's like always keeping one light switched on in your bedroom. Can't those signs be placed outside the room? I ended up covering it with a dark T-shirt every night, which solved the problem too;-) - There's no socket near the bed.

The balcony can see a beautiful beach, not many tourists in the off-season. The rooms are slightly older and overall a good holiday choice.
Smy Santa Eulalia Algarve

Stayed for 7 nights towards end of Sept with my partner in a 1 bed ground floor apartment. We were instantly wary to see a group of 16 men on the transfer heading to the same location. Not the start of the relaxing holiday we wanted. Had we been aware that large groups would be here we would not have booked this. Would be good if this was mentioned on the SMY and tour operators’ website. We felt very uncomfortable from checking in. The apartment was clean and kitchen well kitted out. Shame we were on the ground floor as heard everything being scraped on the floors above us, money being dropped and people being sick not to mention the loud music and shouting (inside and out) and being overlooked by groups of men. The air con mentioned was only in the living room with a fan in the bedroom. Had to report ants on the worktops. Walls were marked and dinted from doors slamming and had a dirty unstable sofa bed. Was kitted out in cheap Ikea furniture which suggests damages often happen as it’s easy to replace. The holiday price didn’t reflect this! Had plenty of towels to last until they were changed on day 4. The shower over the bath was just a shower attachment that sprayed water all over, a simple adjustable shower holder would solve this. Noise echoed all round the blocks with people drunkenly shouting from balconies to mates etc and swearing (total lack of respect for anyone else all day and night.) This wasn’t all Brits either. The ”rules” only seemed to be followed if complaints were made e.g .noise. The couple of times we tried to relax by the pool were spoilt by groups loudly discussing their drunken conquests, shouting, swearing, planning to take over the pool for a stag do which resulted in females being *****ped naked by the pool the following day in front of young families. The rest of the time we went to the beach to escape. We felt very sorry for the young families and everyone else trying to enjoy the facilities which we all paid for. We’ve also never stayed anywhere where non residents were allowed to enter on evenings and stay from the people we saw wandering about asking how to leave - despite security needing to let you in after 12 at night. Outside was surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars and 2 lovely beaches. Staff were lovely. Ideally located for a restful holiday but SMY seems to be trying to please everyone and sadly wouldn't stay again.
