I visited the resort for a week in late January/early February with a large international group of friends. The resort is well located in the village of Alagna and is attractive, well designed and well managed by lovely staff. The resort offers an excellent spa- where I enjoyed the indoors/outdoors pool and several massages. Each day, Margarita, the local guide, offered an excellent walking tour and yoga session. We hired crampons and visited higher villages. The countryside is beautiful. Recommended!

A hotel in terminal descent. Second time return here all the way from Australia and a really poor overall customer experience. WIne list greatly reduced and prices up, several beers out of stock, NO equipment in the kitchen, all removed, booking system up the creek, a Dutch family we met was forced to sleep in the meeting room for two nights, really grumpy minicab shuttle driver, the list goes on so long it looks like me with the issue! really , its better not to do this place.

We had a really cozy and comfortable stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel is equiped with everything for enjoying the ski experience. You have a ski room in the basement with a personal locker to keep your skis and boots warm and not having to keep them inside your room. The staff is very friendly. We also enjoyed very nice guided mountin climbing and daily excursions with a profesional guide offered by the hotel. Ms. Margarita. On the overall I recommend it and would return with pleasure.

My wife booked spontaneously three nights for us here with a last minute offering for the family suite. Let me start by saying that the room is really big, spacious and has a really cool mountainy feeling, where we really enjoyed our time. It can easily fit 2 families with kids, so maybe next time we will share it with a family of friends, but all in all the room (nr. 326) was really great. Only negative thing is that they didn't make our room any of the days, but maybe it's because we always left our dog in the room with the do not disturb sign and we didn't go out of the room before 10am and only then put out the symbol and the electronic sign to please clean the room. But we anyway felt really happy and like at home, the hotel has a lot of positive things for families and the great potential to become our family vacation spot, so we really think of coming back here once again! Thank you for the really beautiful and functional room, thank you for the lovely breakfast coi grandi e simpatici Luigi and Francesco and their really good and professional boss, thank you for the 16-18 free merenda (drinks excl.) every afternoon, thanks for the pool, for the carboburger in the restaurant as well as the great navetta transport service (grazie mille Pablo!) as well as the hotel in general, accepting us with our 22-months old and our little dog (40cm) and we hope to see you soon again, grazie mille di tutto! The title says, though, that the resort with just few little things could have been even better and more memorable for us and for future families that will stay in the Alagna Experience Resort, and here I'd like to list them for the hotel management to evaluate and take into consideration as positive, constructive feedbacks: 1) room - it's great and it's well equipped, but to have a full Kitchen and have absolutely nothing in it, not even a few dishes, a few forks and knives, a bottle opener and a few things to clean and kitchen towels, that's really telling the guests not to use it and making it just a little bit more complicated for a family to pack for the travel and enjoy the room, so I would make a little change that would make a big difference. 2a) pool - the temperature of the water in the winter is simply a bit too cold, especially for kids but also for adults, both in the main as well as in the kids pool. It says on the wall that the max. allowed temperature is 32°C, but I think it's not true, unless it's a rule of the region, because I've been to other hotels in Italy where pools get to 36 or even 38 degrees Celsius. 2b) pool - moreover, if you have a kids small pool, you might wanna add some floating toys or some toys to play in the water, to make it again easier for families and more enjoyable for their kids. Plus, we've seen a picture with a little slide in it, which our little son would have loved, but there was no slide when we were there and nothing really for kids, except a little pool not warm enough. 3) dinner - it's a bit of a sh

Traditional and modern, really well kept. Rooms are spacious and fitted with everything you might need. Breakfast is great together with the noon snack offered by the property (you still pay for drinks though). Really close to the city center but still quiet. Spa area is nice but tiny. The price doesn’t justify the level of service. We got there at midnight on Friday night and left at 10 am on Sunday morning. We paid €200 a night and were not allowed to use the spa after checking out on Sunday, unless we paid an extra €50 per person. Basically we could only use the spa facilities (main reason of our visit) only for one day, while paying for a 2-days stay. It was totally unexpected since we’ve never had this kind of treatment before, we’ve always been able to use hotel properties on the day of checkout.

I heard about the Monte Rosa ski area during the summer and rarely been anywhere but Switzerland in past 20 years and so a lot to live up to. I was not disappointed with the ski area or my base camp. The Alagna Spa Resort is perfect. It is a 4* with great rooms, breakfast and the afternoon buffet of traditional Mears and cheeses plus the usual cakes is a great differentiator. Because it is small, the bar is not open during the week, but you are not too many steps from the great little bars and restaurants close by. Whilst it is only 10 mins walk to the lift, there is a free shuttle bus to drop you off and collect you from sling if you wish. Good parking. Good spa. Good massages. But above all, fantastic staff- polite, helpful, smiling and just can’t help enough. This is a little gem of a hotel and cannot commend it highly enough Paul, Lincoln, England.

To my dismay, I ended up spending the majority of our family ski holiday in our room, in bed, down with the flu. Not that the the hotel has any blame in that, but unfortunately for them I found myself with plenty of time to kill, and few joys other than to write this herculean review. Let’s start off on a positive note, the hotel and the rooms are nice and comfortable. The location is perfect, just on the edge of the village centre a short stroll from a few stores, restaurants and the cabin lift bringing you straight to the amazing Monterosa ski system. And Alagna is a picturesque gem! Considering the thriller we’ll get to later in this text, I was also positively surprised to find our room well cleaned each day of our stay. The hotel has no decent restaurant to speak of, but we didn’t mind as there are nice options a short walk away. So the hotel had all potential to be the perfect option for a great family holiday. We paid 520€ per night for our room, a hefty price indeed, but considering it was peak season and the size of our room it could have been bang for the buck. But little did we know, the hotel was managed by Basil Fawlty’s greedy twin, keeping our credit card number hostage to squeeze out every last Euro-cent of us as if it was a matter of life and death. Our daughter became ill on the night before our scheduled travel and we had to postpone the trip with a day. I spent the morning trying to call the hotel to inform them and ask if there was any chance for the first night to be compensated for. After hours of unanswered calls someone finally picked up, and when explaining the situation I was asked to organise a medical certificate, which we spent hours to get. In the evening, with the medical certificate in hand, I call back to ask where to send it only to be told there is no point, I shouldn’t bother as no compensation whatsoever would made. "Ok, but now you made us go trough all this hassle to get a medical certificate, you must be able to do something?” I ask. “NO". Plain and simple. Just "NO". When we finally arrive, 24 hours later, they downgrade our room category to a smaller one than we had booked and paid for. When raising the issue in the reception, we are made to wait for 1,5 hours, just for the receptionist to admit their error, but claiming the room category we had reserved is now fully booked, and there is nothing they can do. I politely explain my disappointment about not getting the room we're paying for and having to spend the week sharing a 80cm single bed with my daughter who moves around like a helicopter rotor in her sleep. In response I’m told we can have the baby cot free of charge (standard in most hotels), but are still expected to pay the full price of our original room category. When I insist that it’s bizarre, I’m first offered a 3% discount, which I don’t accept, after an additional hour of waiting, they raise the discount to 6% (which I doubt even matches the price difference between the room we bo

Stayed as client of Active Away ski holidays. Shared high quality suite with my mate Mike. Room well appointed, great balcony. Spa great. Staff all friendly and helpful. Particular shout out to manager Simonetta for her tireless efforts.

Just a word of warning if using Bookings.com. We were very disappointed to learn that access to the Leisure Centre incurred a €20 per person charge per day. We were advised that "use of the Leisure Centre was not part of our package". So for a family of 5 we incurred a €100 daily charge. Even on the day when three members of our party had a spa treatment they were also charged €20 per person to use the relaxation area afterwards. We only had one evening meal in the hotel and all five adult members of our party agreed it was as poor a hotel meal as we had anywhere and it was the most expensive meal of our short stay in Alagna. There are some excellent restaurants in the village (Dir und Don, Edelweiss and Ristorante Cà Nosta) that offer excellent food and much better value. The hotel itself is a beautiful building and the rooms are very well appointed. They offer a regular and friendly shuttle service to the ski lift. We had no towel or bedclothes change in four days. While we realise that Covid has had a huge impact on the hospitality sector, fresh towels outside the door could not have been too much to ask for.
