Hotel New Palace Aizuwakamatsu

The accommodation environment is good.

The location is right in the city center, and it's a 15-minute walk to Aizuwakamatsu Castle, which I found very convenient.

This hotel offers good value for money compared to other hotels around Aizu. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The only drawback is that there's no public bath, just a small unit bathroom in the room.

At check-in, the hotel staff informed me that my reservation was only for one person. The room itself was a standard twin, which made me question why it was booked for just one. I had to pay an extra 5,700 yen for the second person. Upon checking my confirmation email, it indeed confirmed the rate was for one person. The booking app's interface is quite confusing, and this whole situation was a real letdown during check-in. However, the room was very spacious, with a separate bath and toilet. Although it was a bit dated, it was still very good. I'd definitely like to stay here again.

Great value for money! The exterior has a Showa-era feel, but the interior has been renovated and is very clean and beautiful! All the necessary amenities are provided, so neither men nor women should have any problems. The breakfast buffet is mainly Western-style, but it includes Aizu-Wakamatsu's "Kozuyu" soup, grilled fish, beef bowl, and many side dishes, so it's quite satisfying! There are dishes that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, so it seems good for families too! They also hold your luggage, so it's perfect for sightseeing! It's a bit of a walk from the station, so if you're not very fit or have a lot of luggage, I recommend taking a taxi. There seem to be several parking lots, so parking shouldn't be a problem.

The room was large and comfortable, with a separate bathroom and toilet. It was a very spacious Japanese-style room with a garden view. The staff were very friendly, and it was located in the city center, making it convenient for shopping and dining.
