Hotel Goyal Palace

The hotel is a 650-meter walk from Agra Cantt, though the road conditions are somewhat poor. Located in a lane, the hotel is relatively quiet (unless guests are making noise). The amenities are decent (and serviceable), and the price is reasonable. There's a large local market in the lane in front of and across from the hotel, and in the evening, there are many food stalls near the hotel lane. Do you need to ask about prices? One unpeeled boiled egg cost Rs. 20/10/08 (this is what I paid). (I personally think it's more hygienic to leave it unpeeled). The MRT is under construction at the alley entrance (quite dusty). You can take an Uber (pay in cash) for transportation (the driver will negotiate the price, but it's still more reasonable and safer than just hailing one). P.S. Almost all of Agra's main roads are under MRT construction, making it nearly impossible to walk during the local rush hour. Fortunately, there's a train from Agra Ford Railway Station back to Agra Cantt between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM. The fare is Rs.30 (check Google Maps).

There were insects constantly flying around in the room. I booked it because it was within walking distance of the station, but it wasn't clean enough to justify the price. The sheets were also dirty, so I don't think it would be suitable for someone who is very particular about cleanliness.

The bathroom is dirty. It's better not to take a shower than to go to a place like this, so I didn't take a shower during my stay.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the staff are very attentive and helpful. If you want to order delivery or order from their menu, they are happy to assist you. The hotel has air conditioning, which is great for the Agra heat. The bathroom facilities could be improved, but for the price, it's fair.

I was shown a room that was different from the photo. After persisting, I was shown a room that was within my tolerance, but the closet was littered with old items and had a strong smell. The guide was also condescending.
