Giannoulis - Santa Marina Plaza (Adults Only)

Stayed here during a tour of wildflowers of Crete. It is well appointed and clean though you have to pay extra for full sea view (as opposed to via the pool) – well worth it. The outstanding aspect of the hotel was the friendliness and courtesy of the staff, who couldn’t do enough for us. A bonus for us was that it is adult only ie no children jumping in and out of the pool. There is a bus service to Chania but taxis are €15-€18 each way. The food is pretty good buffet style. Overall a good quality medium sized hotel so no queues or crowds for meals.

The Santa Marina Plaza is truly a lovely hotel. Run by the ever smiling Alexander (I nicknamed him Alexander The Great!) nothing was too much trouble for him and his superb staff. There was a genuine warmth in the welcome and this was also true of all the staff. The hotel itself is on the beach and has a beach bar serving not only drinks but food too. The dining room is well laid out for buffet style dining with waiter service for any wine or beer. The food is varied, plentiful and very well cooked. We had a room overlooking the beautiful pool. The beds were very comfortable, there was a small, well stocked fridge, a decent size TV with BBC News among lots of channels, a Nespresso machine plus a kettle and tea and coffee provided. The rooms were expertly cleaned daily. The whole hotel was spotless. I cannot praise this hotel enough. It was such a pleasure to stay there and I would most certainly recommend it - although be aware that it seems to be an adults only hotel. Well done indeed Alexander. I hope to see you again by which time I hope to have learned a bit more Greek. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

From the off the staff where so helpful and nothing was to much trouble especially Kevin the bar man, Anna from the restaurant and Alexander the hotel manager. The hotel has a lovely setting and would definitely recommend the Jet2 train for the excursions

Stayed here for a week with my daughter and all I can say is I have had the most wonderful relaxing week of my life . I am waiting on hip surgery so came with rollator but managed fine around hotel and down the few large steps onto the beach, we stayed in downstairs room overlooking the pool absolutely lovely large room , rooms cleaned daily with lovely friendly workers . We went half board and food choices was excellent I can not find any fault with this beautiful hotel and everyone that works here I would definitely say it should be 5 ⭐️ can’t wait to return with other family members to experience a wonderful relaxing stress free holiday .🍹☀️ 💙

The travellingseason is over for this year and this years best experience is this hotel. Fantastic serviceminded management, very nice and kind staff, relaxing enviroment. After a little down dropp, it is back where it belongs. This was the 8 time we visit the hotel, and we looking forward to going back again.

Absolutely loved this place, booked for next year before we came home. A small hotel, not super modern rooms, a more traditional feel. However the room was spacious and spotlessly clean, as was the spacious bathroom. We were on the ground floor looking out over the pool. We wanted a real get away, peace and quiet, no children to totally relax and that's exactly what we got. We booked half board for 7 nights. Food is buffet style for both breakfast and dinner, each meal time was varied, food was plentiful and hot. The staff were all, without exception friendly, accomodating, happy and professional. I would like to give special mention to Alexander and Katerina and also the lovely barman Kevin, who was full of fun. We were able to get a room for late check out, whilst it was at additional cost it was well worth it to enjoy our last day with a late flight and these guys made it happen. If you are looking for music and dancing in the evenings with lots of other guests this is not the place for you. The hotel is very small, it's almost exclusive but without all the hype that goes with that. Just simple friendly peace and quiet. There was a couple of evenings entertainment (singers) at the pool bar however it was not your usual bun fight, if anything it was not well attended which was a shame because it was good. It has taken me ages to get round to reviewing this hotel because I want to keep it a secret. So looking forward to going back next year to 100% switch off.

From our arrival to departure the hospitality and service provided by all the staff from the manager downwards was exceptional. Location on the beach was idyllic with easy access to buses to Chania. Restaurant choices and quality very good. We had a superb two weeks at the end of their season.

We spent a relaxing week at this beautiful adults only hotel and a wonderful time. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff, big comfortable rooms with capsule coffee machine and kettle, clean pool and a fantastic beach. A wide choice of excellent food and drinks, one can’t fault anything. Perfect location with bus stop for easy access into Chania right opposite hotel.

An absolutely delightful hotel, with wonderful staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. Great value for money with lovely rooms, huge beds and sea views. The restaurant staff were lovely, the food was very good, serving a wide range to suit all tastes, We spent 2 weeks here and could have stayed longer. Great pool, with sun beds around it and on the beach (beach towels are provided!). Plenty to do around the resort, but cheaper to do the organised trips rather than doing it yourself. Gramvousa and Balos are well worth a visit, but take good shoes and swimwear. The Little train was fun - the trip to the oil tasting was our favourite and the oil was cheaper than in the shops! Highly recommend!
