5 stars hotel??? Is it a joke??? The location is great but the hotel is completely run down. Sunbeds by the pool cover with poo of birds, ashtrays full of cigarettes, bad smell in the restaurant, bad food, no cup for coffee (only cardboard at breakfast). Ridiculously high price for being in Egypt. No WiFi in the rooms!!!!! Only in the common areas.

This may be the best accommodation option in Abu Simbel, being situated on the lake and within walking distance of the temples. It is pitched at tour groups who stay for one night. The rooms are comfortable. There is no WIFI except in some of public areas, and no functioning TV channels. It feels like the hotel just does the basics, even to limiting the bottled water in the rooms. Food is ok, but again pitched at tourist groups so in cafeteria mode. A la carte menu prices are in US dollars. Rates can be very high so it does not represent good value for money, but you will probably only need to stay one night so you may decide that is a reasonable trade-off.

The staff is very friendly. The rooms are wonderful. Bright with inviting colors. Not to mention spacious. The pool area was awesome. Multiple pools to swim in. Poolside bar and plenty of seating. I have a lovely afternoon just relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. I ate dinner and breakfast there. The food selection was great. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Located barely a 6 minutes away from the airport, this is possibly the best hotel that one can get in Abu Simbel. Located on the shores of Lake Nasser, the hotel is a fairly large property, with some amazing views of the lake. A circular driveway led to the hotel, and while some rooms face the driveway, most of the property is behind the reception. There is a in house store selling Egyptian artefacts We were fortunate to get an early check in, which was smooth, though slightly long drawn. The rooms we were given were suites - an upgrade that was very welcome. A sitting room and a bedroom, with one and a half bathrooms between them, meant that we could really spread out. The amenities were top class, as were the furnishings. Each of the rooms had its own airconditioning unit. The wardrobes were quite spacious and there was enough space to open two suitcases comfortably - a feature that is sorely lacking in most modern properties. Safe deposit boxes were available in our rooms Abu Simbel is a sleepy town, so, even though, the hotel is at the edge of the town, there is not much to do on the outside. The hotel is a 10 minute car ride from the monuments at Abu Simbel. This permitted us enough time to recover from an early morning start and then visit the monuments as also attend a rather indifferent Sound and Light show in the evening. There is a large pool on site with wide open spaces. There are enough lounge chairs to soak in the sun for those who are so inclined. Facing west with Lake Nasser in the foreground, it offered us a brilliant sunset to watch. That sight alone, made our stay here worth the while. There are one restaurant in the premises that serves a buffet dinner and a cafe that serves a la carte items. The buffet was weighted heavily to serving non-vegetarians and hence we were forced to order items from the cafe. The pizza was insipid and the pasta was only slightly better. However, the lack of other dining options, in the town, meant that we were captive clients. Breakfast next morning was a little better, with more options for us. The ubiquitous falafel was available, as also sautéed vegetables. Pancakes were premade.available, but not to order. Check out was quite simple and did not take too long. The staff were extremely courteous throughout our stay. While a lot of tourist visit Abu Simbel as a day trip, if one has to stay overnight, this would definitely be a place to consider.

I have traveled to Egypt many times. Of all the wonderful hotels in which I have stayed, the Seti Abu Simbel Lake Resort remains one of my favorites! It is an oasis of luxury with a relaxed ambiance. Situated on Lake Nasser, the view is spectacular. The pools are large with poolside seating for those who wish to soak up some sun as well as those who wish to relax under a protective canopy. Great service is provided by a friendly and competent staff. The hotel manager, Essam El Shraby, is readily available and eager to assist. There is a restaurant on hotel grounds with a wide selection of delicious food, and gift shops to browse without hassle. As an additional bonus, the hotel is within easy walking distance to the magnificent Abu Simbel complex. Highly recommended!

I loved my room and location of the hotel. Its very convenient location to the temples was great. The front desk staff was great. The food was OK. I did have one major issue with the kids who take care of the luggage. While I was waiting for my ride I was talking to them and they asked where I lived. I tried to explain but could see that they didn't understand. I pulled up a map on google maps and showed them. While they had my phone they moved the map to show Israel. They asked me what what it was. The map clearly said Israel and I told them Israel. They told me NO that it was Palestine and laughed. I stopped the conversation right there. 3 things that I have learned with traveling and working with customers many years ago are. Do not discuss Sports, politics, or religion. I am sure that this was an isolated incident but it needs to be said. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and I hope the hotel management reads this and deals with it.

Okay, this is not a five-star hotel, but it's a pretty good four-star hotel. Like many hotels in remote areas, the building standards are not the best. You will see sloppy workmanship mistakes in your room and you have to ignore this. But, it is a beautiful location with a beautiful view, and felt very relaxing. I have high standards for food and was amazed at how delicious the food was on the buffet. The fish was fresh and not overcooked, the mezze was super tasty, and the desserts were beautiful. One of the best buffets I've been to for flavor and preparation. Now, I did notice that the bread for breakfast seemed to be the same bread from the night before, but waste not, want not.

We had the pleasure of bringing another group of tourists to Abu Simbel and we spent the night at this fabulous resort in Abu Simbel. Everything about the resort is perfect, love the accommodation on offer, the food is plentiful and tasty and the staff are the best especially Essam who is always there to welcome us and make sure our stay is the best. Simply love the Seti 1 Resort in Abu Simbel. We highly recommend anyone considering a visit to Abu Simbel to extend your time and spend the night in this wonderful resort. Staying here gives you the opportunity to go to the Light & Sound Show at the temples and a visit at dawn before the crowds arrive from Aswan. I only wish we had more time at this beautiful resort, so relaxing, an oasis in the desert with the best view of the lake.
