Stayed there with family last December for Christmas which was twice in a row for us and I must say we totally enjoyed our stay once again. The service was outstanding ,the food was amazing amazing to say the least. what stood out for us for the most part was the endless biting's, snacks and ice cream available for the kids the whole day. Not to mention the kids club which had minders engaging them in activities during our entire stay. The hotel had lots of engaging entertainment for the whole family and adults as well, including Christmas eve dinner and lunch which was equally amazing. overall we enjoyed our entire stay and look forward to spending many more holidays seasons at the whitesands. ps what we would like the management to consider is bringing back the drinking water for kids at the pool side like the previous year as they end up spending most of the time there and for parents not having to worry about kids being hydrated the entire time they are at with the the minders at the pool area would be such a relief, and not just ice cream. special mention to the manager at the reception/checking (jessie) who went out of his way to ensure our check-in, stay and checkout was so effortless. His customer service and considerate mannerism was exceptional our second mention is Joseph the restaurant supervisor who's commitment and customer service was also top notch.FromS$128

As I chose the upper scale apartment (penthouse) that has all the benefits, I gave it a 5 star review. Might have been 4 star. Pros :amazing view (upper floors), huge rooms and space. Crazy appliances. All you need for up to six ppl vacation space. The beach access and pool are great, diving area right on the beach, with nice veriaty of dishes (at reasonable cost). Service is good. I am on the fence regarding transportation, as there is limited tuk tuk/ boda boda outside the perimeter. Safety is high. Beach is clean. Cons: the place is clean, but room cleaning is not done unless asked specifically. As usual when you leave the perimeter toward the beach, expect hassle from beach boys and others. And it's a bit pricey. Some tour offers being arranged (ie wasini/shimoni) are better done outside. Not all actual operators are good and price varies. FromS$61

I travelled on business - with family - BIG mistake. Ok swimming pool with good wifi. No beach to write home about. Not one swing on the property to make a child smile. Nice apartments, very spacious, great kitchen but not allowed to even warm baby's milk - all appliances (except the fridge) are disabled. All 6 Restaurants have good food - just takes too long to get served. Management responds to posts online (surprisingly) but has terrible PR on the property. They are quick to charge even for services not rendered - I have not recieved an itemized bill 2 months after the date. This seems to be a habit I have seen on reviews and twice on the national newspaper. Services at the hotel are expensive (which is ok), but to charge for services not rendered is unacceptable.FromS$153
