Having to attend a funeral in Tunis we needed a hotel on short notice and found this hotel on-line. Pictures looked really nice and price was reasonable. When we arrived we where welcomed in a friendly manner. The hotel on eyesight was nice, until we got to the room. There was a leak in the bathroom and the wifi was not working properly. When reporting this no action was taken other than they remarked we had brought our5 year old child with us, which we had reserved and they stated we had not paid for it. When checking the reservation we did, however we remarked that there was no bed for her, so sad if you arrange a bed we will of course pay extra. The bed never arrived so we slept with 3 in 2 small 1 person beds. The next day we decided our little girl would stay with her grandmother as it was not acceptable sleeping like this. On check out the receptionist demanded payment of 150 euro extra for the child. We stated that the child had not slept in the hotel for the past nights and that we had asked for a bed and it was not given. So we said if you really think you are right call the police. In the end he did not and we left. The room itself was not bad but very small, not very clean and no view at all. The bathroom was small and leaked. Our recommendation ....... avoid it.FromS$99

My company reserved the Laico for my visit to Tunis and it was a great home base for my 12 night stay. The front desk, which is best with French and Arabic, went out of their way to assist with every detail. My room was quite big and, though a little dated, very functional. The AC, safe, fridge and everything worked well. The bathroom was elegant. Some may prefer one of the beach front properties but they out off town. I loved being in the city. We took walks to the fascinating downtown, including the market [souk] and just through the adjoining neighborhoods. We never felt unsafe in any way. We tried local food places and found a lot to like. The included breakfast buffet, despite covid, was excellent. Everyone on the staff was very accommodating. If I return to Tunis I won't hesitate to return to the Laico.FromS$160

The hotel's location is superb, right on the Champs-Elysées-Bourguiba Street in Tunisia, opposite the famous African Hotel. The Chinese Embassy is working in this hotel before building the building. Turning 200 meters left is Tunisian's iconic The building is similar to a mixture of the Eiffel Tower in France and Big Ben in the UK. Turn right at 500 meters in the ancient city of Medina; the hotel service is good, especially the breakfast is very cost-effective; the service staff is quite good, go to the ancient city of Carthage and tell you to take the urban light rail, The 20-kilometer road is only 1 yuan, just over the elevated road at the landmark. There are restaurants and cafes on both sides of the street, the density is higher than the Champs-Elysées and the prices are relatively low.FromS$76

It is already the third time to stay at the African Hotel. The environment has nothing to say. Shopping is very convenient in the most central Bourguiba Street in Tunisia. It is recommended directly by local customers. The hotel is a veteran star hotel, so the service did not have to say, very good, but the room is relatively new star hotel if the family parent-child travel will be slightly smaller, if the single business trip is just right. The hotel is great in the morning, I like it very much. Dinner personally think that there is no general, especially for the Chinese who do not have hot drinks, it is very painful, the buffet dinner drink is another. This is not the same as domestic. There are no disposable slippers and hot water bottles in the room. This needs to be with the front desk. But if the hot water bottle can be reached, I am not sure. Anyway, I go abroad to take a hot water bottle. The toiletries in the bathroom are also very simple. There is no other shampoo and shower gel and a small soap.
