This place has the nice vibes of a traditional resort. Staff were largely polite, welcoming and friendly. There’s a large private beach area.
However, my stay was marred by several issues. I booked a room with options for either a double bed or 2 twin beds. Upon arrival, I was told that there were no double beds available. I asked the staff if there’s anyone in a double bed room who’s checking out today, and told the staff I’m willing to wait if there is. She said there’s a guest in a double bed room who’s checking out that day, but she’s unable to “confirm”. She suggested that I take a room with 2 twin beds combined instead. Sensing that I’ve no choice, I reluctantly accepted it, and upon reaching that room, I saw the adjacent room with a double bed and the room looked vacant. I went back to the reception to ask if I could take that other room, and this time another staff took over and told me there’s a room with double bed for me but I have to wait for it to be ready. I agreed but felt perplexed why the first staff couldn’t have just told me the same thing. It’s not like I insisted on having a double bed room immediately, I already said I’m willing to wait.
Another issue was the wifi. We all had problems connecting to the wifi, and when we finally got connected, the connection was often unstable.
On the second night, there was a power failure and the electricity was out for several minutes.
Overall, this is still a nice comfortable resort that makes a good getaway from the city. It will be even better if staff communication and wifi can be improved.FromSGD 122

Amazing experience! They gave snacks (cookies & water) and cool towels during our land transfer. The location is far from the ferry port, it takes around 75mins, but good enough we had Wifi on board. Upon arrival of the hotel, the staff greeted us with warm welcome, served us refreshing drinks, and assisted our check-in right away. We rode the buggy to our villa, and they assisted us in bringing our luggage. The villa is amazing. It was so big! I love the hammock! The room is very clean. It has mini bar so you may have some drinks and pay upon check-out. We had a coffee maker in our room with complimentary coffee pods. The food on The Dining Room, Pool Bar, and Rica-rica were all delicious. Breakfast has a lot of choices. Although too sad they don't have hot chocolate so we just had coffee. We were surprised they told us we have one-time complimentary cocktail/mocktail! And oh, they gave my husband a birthday cake! The SPA offered excellent massage experience. We had land and water activities to make the stay more fun. The beach is so-so, we didn't swim there. But we loved the swimming pool. A lot of free activities also like kayaking, standing paddle, darts, billiards, table tennis, board games. We didn't get to try biking as we get tired easily haha. The staff are the best. This would have got an average rating had it not been for the staff - competent, professional and always willing to help. The facilities seem jaded maybe due to the Covid related lockdowns etc and some parts especially the toilets ( the toilet seat was almost black ) were a disappointment. The location is excellent with a fantastic sea view from the restaurant and the beach is clean for the most part. The villas are good with a nice private pool and decent sized rooms. Our requests for buggy to transfer us from our Villa to the main building were always attended to promptly. The a-la-carte food that we had in their restaurant- we tried the local Indonesian cuisine- was excellent but the breakfast buffet was average. When I had interacted with the staff after booking this place, I was told that late check out is subject to ‘availability’ but it clearly isn’t as they charge for every extra hour. This could have been communicated in a better way. There is room for improvement but overall we had a good stay as the property is quite good.FromSGD 234

Staff met were good without exception. Just the right balance between friendliness/ personal service and respect for privacy. Hard to single out staff for particular mention but Kasir had a great sense of humour in addition. Quietest of the four Banyan Tree resorts I have been to but the same very good breakfast and super comfortable beds. The pool was on the small side but the sandy beach was gently sloping and the water warm / no jelly fish etc. Excellent golf course nearby. My travel companion has limited vision and perhaps a few small improvements could be made to the premises in this regard but management was accommodating when the issue was drawn to their attention and a room was provided with only one step to the front door. The room was very clean and well maintained. The interior design of the lobby and the alley were a bit outdated but that's not an issue if you are travelling for business. The room service was very cheap as well. Everything works well but the AC was not too cold, just cool. Overall this is a recommended hotel that will provide quite a comfortable stay.FromSGD 48

This Glamping is so beautifully done! We have Glamping in the US and this Glamping is suoer authentic and wonderfully done. . Here. My husband brought me here for my birthday. We loved the cooking concept by the tent. Wi-Fi was excellent! I thought A/C was good. They had a corporate event and a DJ in the larger dorm tent. It was incredibly loud - I complained to the office and they moved us to a quieter tent. We were going to leave the next day but the manager cancelled the Saturday night DJ so we decided to stay and turned our trip around. The staff was courteous in the dining restaurant and bar. The activities are priced way too high. I was surprised. You are already paying a pretty high fee for the tent..the activities either should be lowered or they should higher the price of the rooms and include the activities. I would definitely recommend this place if you have kids. They would love it! The breakfast is amazing! They should have a paper to people when they check in that says that quiet time is at 10:00 pm. People were a bit loud. Lastly..the Mangrove kayaking was awesome! Was 326k for an hour with a private guide. Book through activity center and not the concierge- The Concierge tried to charge us double the price which didn’t make sense to us.
They had a movie on a big screen and nobody was there. I think they need to give you a piece of paper with all activities planned so you are aware they are going on. We passed some families and told them and they didn’t know that they were playing a movie. Helmi, the manager was very helpful and fixed our issues and was very kind and professional.
We may come back with my tennis group but will make sure there is no corporate events or DJ’s playing.FromSGD 148

Decided to have a short staycay with our lil’ bub. We were greeted by mba Siti, fuss free check-in. Our 1BR villa was great. Clean, amenities provided was alrite, could be better. Lil’ bub loves the bath tub. Thank you mba Novi for the mozzie repellent for our lil’ bub. Staffs greeted us whenever we pass by! Felt so comfortable during our stay. Had a pleasant stay with Kamuela. Will definitely come back again 😍 one minus point will be the breakfast! Hope to see improvement during our next stay! 💙FromSGD 200

Resort was very quiet when we arrived on Thursday. The lagoon was spectacular. Very impressive. Very clean. The lagoon was separated into areas for specific activities. And all activities on the resort comes with additional fees. But they currently have a promo for November which comes with free Slip and Slide, it’s awesome! Kids had a great time there. All the paid activities are expensive. Better to get the package deal from Klook. I had a terrible food poisoning on Day 2. And I was the only one to get it in my family of four. Was sent off to the clinic for anti vomit jab and recovered on the second day. Ordered bbq at our tent for dinner on one of the night and it was so nicely set up. Unfortunately food was not nice 😅 too salty or too sweet! There’s only one restaurant in the resort. Food is expensive. And quality is just average. Breakfast is about the same everyday. 😅FromSGD 180

Banyan Tree's hotels are basically not disappointed. Of course, this one in Bintan is not very bright. The rooms are ineffective. The private beach is still clean and beautiful. It is a bonus project. The beach has some oil, but Does not affect the environment and perfection, the hotel restaurant is good, breakfast pastries are freshly baked, every morning you can smell a strong aroma in the room, can be particularly delicious, if you eat dinner at noon, crab is the most cost-effective food The key is still delicious. We ordered one for the first meal and three for the second meal. The third meal was for one person. The price is less than 180 and other fried rice. Compared with Tom Yum Goong soup, the price is very high. In addition, the hotel's spa is also good. The price of Angsana in Phuket is around 700, which is only around 350-360. The methods and services are good. There are no restaurants and shops around the hotel that can only be consumed at the hotel, and the price is not commented. The price is so expensive. Room is very practical: spacious layout & clean. Comfortable bed. Bathroom is large & clean. Food options are also practical: tasty/ well- prepared. Not a wide variety but sufficient. I suggest limiting plastic bottled water provision for large group functions.Undoubtedly, that's up to the consumer. But hotel can make a stand on this. FromSGD 77

The hotel is relatively old, built in the 1990s, and the facilities inside the room are not new. For example, there are obviously too few lights, making it difficult for children to read a book at night. But the service is really good, and clubmed's concept is well executed. You can leave your children in care in the morning and pick them up in the evening.
