Walking distance to almost everything in Georgetown: blue mansion, little india, St. George Chapel, Fort Cornwallis, Queen Victoria’s Clock Tower, etc. Lots of restaurants around. The hotel is small with two levels only. The room is clean and in good shape. It is not sound proof though. You can hear noises from outside and in the evening, the lights from the hallway comes through the lover glass above the door. A bit disturbing especially if you can’t sleep with lights on. If they could turn if off after midnight, would be great. Hot shower is excellent but the positioning of the shower is a bit weird. Right on top of the toilet. They provide towels, shampoo/body wash and lotion and tv but so far only sports channel is English. Hot and cold water for drinking is outside the ally. They also have a coffee shop that is open early in the for breakfast until afternoon. The mosque is right next door and the first prayer of the day starts at 06:00hrs.

We loved Oriental Hotel, Penang for its fully dedicated employees showing the one true Malaysian hospitality! We had not even expected that the rooms we had booked ahead of time were still available as our flight was delayed. However, the front desk staff greeted us just as soon as we walked in and went the extra mile to take us up to our rooms so as to ensure that the rooms were up to our expectations. The staff went ahead to wait on us to freshen up and recommended to us the top pick of restaurants nearby saving us time to go back into the car. My children loved the street hawker food especially the Penang Lor Back, Hokkien Mee as well as Laksa which were available round the clock. There was so much choices for desserts like fresh bakeries, as well as Italian ice cream sold nearby the hotel for my children to enjoy! The rooms we were given were very clean and spacious with a panoramic view of Georgetown's city lights as well as the spectacular view of Penang Bridge from a distant. Bathrooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels as well as toiletries which made our stay memorable. Most of all, we loved coming across different cultures from locals with their families as well as foreign tourists returning for their wedding anniversary! It made us feel right at home in being welcomed as part of the Malaysian way of life and we will be returning for another vacation soon!

Location was nice as the road's not too busy. There's around 12+ parking for guests at the ground floor so if it's not peak time there's no need to worry about parking. Room was nice but the sheet got a bit stain. Nice place for the price.

No breakfast, not suitable for bringing children, no parking lot, the transportation is very convenient, there is a small bar downstairs, there is a car rental shop, walk to the Everbright Building, the ancient buildings in Georgetown, and Love Lane. The hotel is located on Penang Island. It is located in the middle, a 30-minute drive from the airport, and a 30-minute drive from Tanjung Bungah and Batu Ferringhi. This time I stayed at the hotel and gave a comprehensive score of 75. The front desk staff is very enthusiastic and can give 100 points. The biggest disadvantage is that it is very noisy when leaning against the road. You can hear the roar of motorcycles in the room for 24 hours. It's too noisy. Of course, this is not a problem with the hotel. I think the transportation department should take care of the problem of illegal modification of motorcycle mufflers!

The location is excellent. A shuttle bus will drop you there from the pier. The ”food paradise” market is literally the next street. Hotel in the middle of city ..easy access for public transport and food .highly recommended and the room is clean. Overall pleasant stay, perfect location in Georgetown. Car park provided upon check in located opposite the hotel. Air condition worked fine, as with the hot shower with good water pressure, ample plug points, comfy mattress and pillow, TV available though limited channels, hot/cold water dispenser available just outside the room, complimentary sachets of coffee/tea provided.

Liked · the location is good as its near the main penang street. bathroom is clean with new tiles installed and i can see the bathroom is kept clean. Disliked · first of all, i would like to complain about the room itself. the old furniture smeel from the wardrobe stinks the whole room. aircond is not cold. room 904 9th floor. it was literally at 16 degrees but it was not cold. next, the pillow provided is like ”sotong” (squid) where there is no cotton in. so lembik and i felt that the beggers out there has better pillows to sleep with. i mean, how can a 3 star hotel provide pillow that is worst than a 2 star shoplot hotel. very disappointed on this. the comforter was also very thin its like a white cloth only with fully filling. better give a plain white cloth as a blanket. basically, we been put off with the beautiful pictures from the hotel but what was given below expectation especially with the pillow, comforter and the matress. the main reason to have a stay in hotel to enjoy a good night rest and sleep but this is not achiveable in this hotel with the NON SOUND Prof windows and door, you can hear the sounds of vehicles from the road below. very disturbing for a sleep. basically, i would rate this hotel as BAD and making in my WORST hotel that i have stayed. if can please avoid and choose many other hotels nearby.

The location of the hotel was great. Close to many sites and restaurants. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Checking in took time as the lobby was in another location and we had to call the receptionist first. Otherwise, it is a highly recommended place.

The receptionist who greeted us during our check in was memorable in a bad way. Either she was mad with us calling ahead and requesting for an early check in or she treated us quite unprofessionally based of our social standing. Admittedly my friend who was together with me is a daughter of a VIP who doesnt feel the need to boast her status, but even she was puzzled by the unfriendly treatment. Other than that the room was top notch, great view and thankfully all the other staff has been kind towards us.

Location: Strategic. Very near to Padang Kota Lama, street art & famous restaurants in Georgetown & can be reached by walking. It will be crowded with vehicles & people during weekend, public holiday & school holiday, so it quite difficult to find a parking. Once you get the parking, you might want to just walking around if your destination is near to the hotel. Service: Very good service by the staff! However, the check in time should be revised. On trip.com website they mentioned check in at 2PM. But the room is only ready at 3PM. Cleanliness: The hotel is very clean. The room, bathroom & bed is tiptop! Room: The room that we get is quite small but still okay for 2 adults. No windows. 2 separate beds that they combined to become one big bed. However, we got an annoying bed which makes annoying sound whenever we moves on the bed. Got TV, kettle, fridge, hair dryer. And the room is not really soundproof. You can hear sound of people walking at the corridor. Overall we satisfied with the room. Others: Big & cosy lobby. Got elevator that need to be accessed by card. Everything is good except for the parking. They only have 12 free parking spaces, first come first serve. Parking outside the hotel which is also limited is free only on Sunday & Public holiday. Need to pay through apps 8AM - 6PM, Monday to Saturday. Other parking spaces need to pay around RM20 - RM30.

We had a wonderful time.. we arrived at the hotel around 1.30pm and was allowed to check in early due to room available. We were warm welcomed by the concierge and receptionist.. the room was big, modern and clean of course. The best part it was located between gurney plaza and gurney paragon. The breakfast spread was good and i loved char koeteow the most. The waiters and chefs were also helpful and friendly and their services come with a smile. I enjoyed my 1 night stay here and plan to visit again if i happened to be in penang.

The white elevator is very unique to this elevator. Tho it was slow but I don’t mind bec it so chic with glass door. Very unique indeed! Love it though I wasn’t able to take pic. 😒 +++ white elevator, water refilling dispenser, very spacious room & bathroom +++ location was quite away from the main action but there are 2 bus stops nearby, komtar & chowrasta are 5-10mins walk +++ they provide dental kit, small soap, nice shampoo/conditioner & body wash, mugs, electric kettle, safe, ref, ac was functioning very well, room telephone, tv but i did not use it +++ free wifi was good —- reception is not very friendly except for 1 Indian guy who promptly answers whatsapp tho he mistaken me for a guy at first 😄, the chinese receptionist hardly smiles, indian lady seemed to not know anything when you ask about tourist spots (i think hotel people should equip themselves with some knowledge on tourism. I mean there should be basic orientation by management on this. Times had changed and you need to have these extra customer service, just suggesting). —- i was in the assumption that cleaning is daily but i was told every other day but i still need to remind them about it. Entire hotel can use some improvement in the cleaning — no closet inside the room, you just have to hang your stuff —- my view was a huge wall —- soundproofing is bad, very noisy when people close doors or children running around. You hear toilet flushing from nearby rooms —- it was raining when I arrive and nobody offered an umbrella except on the second day when the janitor heard me. That was appreciated very much. It also made me realize that umbrella is a weapon for solo travellers so that made the carrying a little easier —- towels smell mushy maybe bec of rainy season —- sometimes bathroom had some drainage smells —- food choices was a little limited in area unless you walk for like 5-10mins. Overall stay was still on the good side. I had way worst stays than this. I did enjoy my solo trip to Penang and would love to go back. I plan to stay next time near the street art areas where the actions are. I would still recommend le embassy to other travellers.

I know this hotel from the travel notes: the restaurant with the most beautiful angle of the flag mountain, so I want to live. Only 9-10 rooms, so it is quite tense, not full house on weekends. The price is not expensive, only the price of more than 300 yuan has been booked. Let me talk about the advantages: The environment is very good, the scenery is beautiful, no matter how many lights are seen at night, it is very beautiful to watch the sunrise in the morning. The service is very good, whether it is the beautiful Malay girl at the front desk or the uncle who helps us with the luggage. The next day, the breakfast should be the boss and will come and say hello. The breakfast is rich and the taste is good. The stir fry at the entrance of the hotel is very delicious. It is said that the first place in Penang is not covered. I think it is the best fried stir fry I have ever eaten (mainly like the chicken skin inside, there is a feeling of lard) In the evening and in the morning, I read the book quietly in the room, looking at the sky and the leaves outside the window. (If you can pick up a monkey or a squirrel, it’s perfect, but when you go down the mountain, you meet the monkey group.) Although there is no air conditioning, there is a fan and it is very comfortable to open the window (we are on the second floor). Let me talk about the disadvantages: We are driving, and then found that we can not drive, contact the hotel, only know that we need to pay a round trip MYR 120 (or RM 160 if not through the hotel), if not for self-driving guests, it is estimated to carry luggage Take the little train. However, the fare of 120 is not expensive, because the original flag mountain is also the ticket and the small train fee, and the mountain road is very difficult to open, not the people here, should not be able to open. The hotel on the mountain will definitely be a bit wet and buggy, and some big insects that have not been seen will be a little scary. One of the biggest drawbacks is that there are a lot of yellow spots on the toilet lid. I can't wipe it with a wet tissue. It should be a long-lasting relationship. It looks a little uncomfortable. Overall a very satisfying leisure time.

Very good hotel, the decoration of the rooms is relatively simple, some of the facilities in the hotel are very practical and convenient. Before I came, I was worried that the hotel would be too rudimentary at such a cheap price. After I arrived, all these concerns were dispelled, and the house was not at all Poor, very cost-effective, hotel service is also good, there will be room cleaning service every day, the room will be cleaned.

The Magazine Vista Hotel in Penang is more cost-effective. When choosing this hotel, I consulted for a long time, such as booking (more reviews, good or bad), Ctrip (only a simple review). Because it only opened in 2018, the hardware is very new, and the hygiene is good. I especially like to have a washing machine, but I have to find a place to dry the clothes indoors. The location of the apartment is very good. On the left is the GAMA supermarket, and on the right is the landmark of Everbright. Fruits and snacks have their own favorites! Call the front desk before arriving at the hotel, because the front desk is not here, so call in advance and the hotel will send staff to wait at the door. When you call, you need to speak English. There is a Chinese-speaking waiter. India borrowed ”Di Li” (transliteration)-Figure 6 this one. If you call him, you will have no difficulty in communication. He will come to collect a tax of MYR 10 per night, introduce room facilities, and even help you set up a taxi app on your phone. The network is poor and it can't be connected for a few days, so it is important to buy a local phone card. On the second floor facing the street, the noise of motorcycles on the street is loud, which will affect the rest. These problems are not big, this hotel is worth recommending.
