Fukuoka
|0.3km from Tenjin StationThe location is great, very close to Nakasu subway station, and right outside is the original Ichiran Ramen. I booked a month in advance, and the price was quite a bit higher for a weekend stay, but the service quality was excellent. They serve curry rice until midnight, and there's a pretty good breakfast in the morning too. Just a heads-up, toiletries are to be picked up from the lobby; they're not provided in the room.

|0.3km from Tenjin StationThe room was spotless. The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 2-minute walk from Tenjin Station. Ichiran Ramen's main store is conveniently located right across a bridge from the hotel's back exit. The surrounding area features a large commercial district, and you can even enjoy yatai (food stalls) in the evenings. Canal City Hakata is only a 13-minute walk away. Amenities include a coffee machine, microwave, and washing machine.

|1.5km from Tenjin StationVery good hotel location, close to the Hakata station (around 15mins walk). Comfortable room, perfect size for 1 person stay. May feel a bit crowded for 2 people especially with big luggages. Room is well insulated and central aircon option becomes heater during winter. Very helpful staf, easy check-in and some amenities provided on the first floor.

|6.99km from Tenjin StationConclusion first: Recommended to stay ☝🏻
First of all, the host responded quickly. There is an electronic lock outside the door. It will light up when you click it first. If you enter the wrong number, it is recommended to wait for it to go out before entering again (it seems there is no delete key, please take your time.
Using Google Map is not very accurate, especially at night when the road is quite dark and the buildings are hard to see clearly. Anyway, when you see 711, turn in and the house is on the right. The building with lots of bicycles in the basement is the right one.
The house is similar to the pictures, fully equipped with disposable toothbrush bags (but I didn't use them since I brought my own), hair dryers and other things. The TV is watchable, not the kind that requires you to rent a DVD. It's a very clean place.
The bed is very comfortable, and the pillow is not the soft kind, which I like~ There is no noise around at night, and it is completely no problem to rest 👌🏻 Both beds have sockets, and there is another mop on the ground to the right of the microwave, which is very convenient for charging.
It is early spring now and the blanket alone is warm enough, so I can’t comment on the air conditioning without using it.
There is a washing machine on the terrace for drying clothes, and there are plenty of hangers in the closet so there won’t be enough. There are also clips for socks and the like on the terrace.
The toilet and bathroom are separated, the toilet is on the left and the bathroom is on the right. The toilet is a little narrow, but it is clean and smells good. The toilet seat is heated and warm. The toilet paper is the thickest I have ever used in Japan. Although it is still relatively thin, I guess it is one of the thickest in Japan🥺This is great. My favorite thing in the whole house is actually the toilet, although it is a bit narrow.
There is a kitchen and a microwave, as well as detergent and other supplies. It is also convenient to cook at aeon MaxValu nearby.
There is a 7-Eleven on the left when you go out, and there is also a Lawson at JR Minami-Fukuoka Station. If you go to Nishitetsu Zaxiangkuma Station, there will be two 711s along the way.
The transportation is generally convenient, and it takes about 10 minutes to get to the above two stations. However, they are all straight roads and not difficult to walk on. Considering the housing prices, this distance is quite reasonable. If you take the JR sub rapid train, it only takes 5 minutes from Minami-Fukuoka to Hakata. The regular train takes about 12 minutes. You can take the Nishitetsu to Nishitetsu Tenjin Station, and you can also take the Nishitetsu directly to Dazaifu.
If you have large luggage, please be aware that some roads are narrow.
The following are the shortcomings: On the first night, I saw a very big cockroach in the toilet. It was scary. The host said that generally there are more mosquitoes and cockroaches are rare. We flushed the toilet and didn't see the second one afterwards so it must have been an accident.
There is no curtain in the bathroom, so the floor will get wet. Remember to put your slippers outside the door. The ventilation is slow and the water on the ground will not dry up even the next day.
In the next two days, mosquitoes were indeed quite common as the host said. They were big and had long legs and were easy to kill. 😂 Considering that there are mosquitoes in winter, there should be more in summer. If you don't open the terrace door unless necessary, it shouldn't be a big problem.

|0.56km from Tenjin StationThe location was good and there were many convenience stores nearby, so it was convenient, but the rooms in the hotel were just so dirty... There was so much dust and the carpet on the floor was sticky for some reason and it was really disgusting, and I'd like them to clean up the area behind the shelves where there are a lot of wires.
There were so many spiders that I wondered if it was a home for insects.
There were only three outlets in total, and one was broken and missing. This is the first time I've stayed in a hotel where there were so few outlets in the places I needed them.
Also, the walls were so thin that I was woken up by the alarm in the next room, and the alarm on the bed went off at 7am even though I hadn't set it. The staff were very friendly and the location was great, so I would recommend it to people who don't mind a lack of cleanliness.

|0.99km from Tenjin StationPersonal opinion as a female Asian traveler.
Location: 20 mins walk from Hakata station. 4 mins walk to Gion bus stop or canal city bus stop, both go to Hakata station in around 10 mins. Also, 15 mins walk to Kawabata Shopping Arcade and Canal CityHakata. There are not many restaurants nearby, only convenient stores around the area. Better eat before returning to the hotel. There is a MaxValu Express (open for 24 hrs, 2 levels: 1st floor drugsstore and B1 supermarket) 4 mins walk from the hotel. Great option for late night snacks, drinks, daily necessities, and tax-free shopping.
Room: small and a bit old, cleanliness ok, no bath tub only shower stall. Shower water is not hot enough. Very poor sound insulation (recommended to use earplugs when sleepping. Provided on 1st floor of hotel). You can hear almost every single activity happening next door(literally meaning). Light switches far away from bed, which is a bit inconvenient.
Front desk: it is an unmanned hotel. Self check-in via smartphone prior (utilizing the QR code) or via computer on 1st floor. Self check-out via tablet provided inside the room or computer on 1st floor. Using password to enter room. There is a female staff member in the lobby area in the morning if needed help for anything. She doesn't speak much English but is very friendly and willing to help. Also, you can text the hotel staff member for assistance if needed via the room tablet provided. They reply quickly.
Amenities: self-service, self luggage storage, only basic items provided. There is no ice maker and only 1 laundry machine on the 1st floor (always being occupied).
All in all, Pros: though the hotel is unmanned, I find it pretty chill, easy and efficient as long as you figure out how things work (not hard at all, perhaps more accessible for younger visitors). Cons: You really have to lower your expectations for everything else. I personally feel it is more like a hostel than a hotel. But considering it is the Hakata area and with this affortable price, can't murmur.

|0.38km from Tenjin StationThe room was more spacious than I expected. It's been a while since I've had a room this spacious as a single.
However, the cleaning wasn't the best. Even right after checking in, I found a lot of other people's hair, not just mine. ^_ㅠ
When I put a plastic bag down on the floor, it stuck to the floor due to static electricity....
Having to go to the counter every day to renew my card key was also a bit inconvenient.
The male staff member who worked during the day was very friendly, and the older woman who manned the counter all night was a bit blunt, but it wasn't a problem.
The location was great, with easy access to both the tram and bus. There was also a convenience store right nearby, which was convenient.

|0.66km from Tenjin StationVery convenient, the Airport Line subway station Nakagawa Duanzhou Station is on the B1 floor, and there is no need to leave the station on rainy days. Underground in a shopping mall selling household goods, you can also go around to eat desserts to pass the time.
It has been raining in Fukuoka for the past two days, just passing the time nearby, next to the shopping street, Don Quixote, Kura sushi; upstairs is the Fukuoka Art Museum, the Bread Superman Art Museum, the overall location is excellent.
Self-service capsule hotel, the capsule space is quite large, more comfortable, the only problem is that someone sleeps and snores, speaks, and the quiet environment affects sleep. (The hotel has earplugs, the effect is general, different from person to person)
Other public spaces, toilets, and bathrooms are very clean and tidy. For me who has a hygiene addiction, it is acceptable and can stay at ease. You can choose to travel alone.
In addition, you can borrow an umbrella from the front desk and the service staff on rainy days and return it when you return.

|0.64km from Tenjin StationI had a reservation mix up with a hotel I had originally booked to stay in, and so I hurriedly found Lyf with an empty room and booked it on my day of arrival at the hotel
(with no prior research)
✅ Located between Tenjin & Yakuin station
many shopping centers and restaurants are 10-15min walking distance
✅ Clean room, basic amenities provided
✅ If you aren’t a member of IHG and sign up on your arrival, you will receive a welcome drink coupon & 1 hr late checkout
✅ Chromecast available
✅ Coin washing & drying machine
✅ Lends umbrellas when rainy
✅ Luggage to airport service starting 500yen for afternoon flights available
🚨Extremely extremely tiny room (two people can’t stand shoulder to shoulder & barely any space to move around)
*booked double bed, 2 people
🚨Room is so small that if you take a hot shower, the whole room will become humid and stuffy
🚨Room isn’t cleaned unless requested
+ YOU need to go down to the lobby to pick up extra towels & amenities
🚨Thin walls
🚨Shared common area can’t be considered sanitary.
Overall.
Well located hotel with uncomfortably tiny, but clean room. Is it worth the price? 🤷🏻♀️

|1.2km from Tenjin Station

|0.65km from Tenjin StationThis hotel is within walking distance of the Tenjin shopping district, making it easy to stroll to famous spots like Kanetora Tsukemen and Musashi Wagyu Rice. Hakata Station is also not far away.
The room size was perfect for two adults and one suitcase. Although the bathroom was compact, it was fully functional and convenient – a common feature of economical Japanese hotels.
The lobby offers a variety of complimentary toiletries, 24-hour coffee, and coin-operated washing machines and dryers (if I recall correctly, it was 300 yen for the washer and 100 yen for the dryer).
There's a Family Mart, a 7-Eleven, a supermarket, and a drug store nearby.

I give one towel per person, but I booked for 4 nights and 5 days, but I ask you to wash the towel and use it.
I had a couch and it was so dirty under the sofa.
I would like to give you 9 stars for a day, but I do not recommend staying for a long time. The location of the hostel is not bad. Shampoo body wash, hand detergent, toothbrush toothpaste is disposable, so you have to bring it to use.

|0.69km from Tenjin StationYou don't need to bring a separate transformer. Since it's a newly built hotel, Type-C and USB ports are everywhere, and there are plenty of outlets.
I booked a triple room, and it was incredibly convenient to have our own bed. Usually, the rooms are divided into large and small beds, which can be inconvenient, but this was the best.
In addition to just having a bed in a small room, there's also a small table next to it, perfect for late-night snacks. The room is quite spacious, and the bathroom is conveniently accessible with a single turn.
I was also pleased with the complimentary cleaning service offered for stays of three nights or more.
The towels were clean and odorless, and the bathroom was also very clean. Luggage storage is also secure, allowing you to leave your luggage before check-in time with peace of mind.
Check-in is done via a kiosk, which can be a bit slow and complicated, but I'd still love to visit again.
The hotel is very close to Canal City and within walking distance of Hakata and Tenjin, making it a great location. There was no paint smell at all, and even I, someone with sensitive skin, had a great stay.
Also, having a Korean-speaking staff member at the counter made it even more convenient. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I was so satisfied that I had to.
Thanks to you, I had a comfortable and enjoyable time. Thank you. 🥹

|1.01km from Tenjin StationIt was a little far from the station and bus stop. Think of it as a double-floor one-room. The facility itself was tidy, but on the last day, a friend said he saw a small cockroach. It is recommended to arrange the food in the accommodation in advance during the trip. Please note that the dryer does not have hot wind. Other hot water and air conditioning work well.

|0.76km from Tenjin StationGood size for 4 to 6 people
There is a washing machine but no dryer.
There is a concert hall and club in front of the accommodation, so it can be noisy in the early morning.
There is a separate small living room, so it's perfect for ordering Domino's pizza and McDonald's.
I tried pizza and tomato ramen. It will arrive soon.
It can accommodate up to 6 people, but there is only one toilet and shower room, so it takes time to prepare.
Room cleaning is not possible, so if you stay for multiple nights, you must wash and dispose of towels yourself.

|0.89km from Tenjin StationYou have to check the check-in time carefully.. Don't make such a stupid mistake.....ㅜㅜ
It's an unmanned hotel, so there are no staff on duty..
I checked in around 9pm and went out to Nakasu Pocha Street to have a drink, but I almost slept outsideㅋ;;
The self-check-in time was 2am the day after I made the reservation, so I thought the door would be open until then.. but it wasn't.. When I arrived at the hotel around 12:30, the front door was firmly closed..
I kept calling the internet phone and the local hotel phone, but they didn't answer..
Then by chance!!! I barely got in with the help of someone who was presumed to be a staff member........!
The hotel was clean, the room was spacious, and it was nice.

However, the front desk staff is quite mean, stayed two nights and requested extend late checkout from 1pm to 1:30pm but rejected, what a shame to a loyal customer to Ritz and it also do not in line with Ritz global marketing”Late checkout”promotion video. 🫣🫣in over all this hotel is mean, swimming poor need extra charge ¥4000/ppl. It is shame and surprising, we stayed a many Ritz Carlton in the world and never seen one need to charge swimming fee😓😓😑. For birthday trip, it is the worst arrangements among all other Ritz Carlton, no bday card message, no simple room decor etc. Do not recommend this Ritz among all Ritz hotels . |1.54km from Tenjin StationRooms with king beds come in two layouts, but the actual floor area is identical; the only difference is the bed's orientation. The bathroom is quite small, and due to the confined space, a slight odor tends to linger after using the toilet. The Executive Lounge offers a decent breakfast, enough to tide you over. However, both the afternoon tea and happy hour selections are quite basic, though it's still a fine spot to grab a drink. The service was excellent, and the room's cleanliness was impeccable.

|2.14km from Tenjin StationHas been staying at Grand Base hotel at other cities and normally we will get the pre check in email very early before for advance check in, but we did not get any until the day of check in, it's ok for us because we are aware of the check in procedure. But maybe for those 1st timer, this will create a little chaos upon arriving at the hotel because they are not aware of the pre email and passcode to enter to the building. I suggest to send the pre email earlier to the customers. Other than that, all things are good.
