Awesome location. Very close to the train station. Which means can be accessed on foot. The hotel is relatively modern and well appointed. Comfortable stay overall. Easy access to the historic center of Semarang which one could spend all day without worrying about finding Gojek or Grab taxis to get back to the hotel. Recommended stay.

recently stayed at the hotel and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located in a great area, just a short walk from some of the city's top attractions. The room itself was clean, and comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff were always available to answer any questions. Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping the room tidy throughout the stay. Overall, I had a fantastic stay at the hotel. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable experience in the city.”

Do not book to this hotel or you will regret it. We booked this hotel for a night transit, based on the good testimonies in online booking apps. When we saw the hotel, it turns off immediately. It is located in a small dead end road near Kota Lama Museum, Semarang. When we come inside, the reception area smells like bathroom and the staff is not welcome at all. Not even a 1-star hotel look-a-like When we enter the room, the nightmare is getting worse! The smelly room with dirty floor (we even does not touch the floor with barefoot & praying in the bed), broken bed with stained bedsheets & the pillows are smells of other's people hair/head sweat. The bathroom is also worst! The sink doesnt have waterpipe, si the water flows directly to the floor. The toilet seat is broken, they dont even provide tissue and it has very bad smell. We finally decided to checked out the same day coz we can not even rest in this place. We have checked in several reddoorz chain, but this one is the worst and looks does not even have control at all. Super dissapointed!

NOT RECOMMENDED! They remind us to checkout at 12.15 (we supposed to checkout at 12.00) and charge us for late checkout. If they want us to remind us, they should inform us beforehand and inform us regarding the late checkout fee. Only late for 15mins but charge us for the whole late checkout fee. Wifi is also bad on 2nd floor, the water is not very good. NOT RECOMMENDED!

1. It was located in between the 2 Semarang’s intercity train stations, Semarang Poncol Train Station and Semarang Tawang Train Station. It was only around 800m from each Station, and took only 15 minutes to get there by foot. It was located at the bottom-right of the UNAKI building. It was also accessible by some minibuses and online transportation as well. 2. This is a capsule hotel, a low-budget one. The interior was inspired with the aviation theme. There was a runaway on the floor to take you to the bedrooms, even there was several airplane’s seats in the waiting room, which was a good spot to take a picture. Near the waiting room and receptionist desk, there was a common room to have some meals, chit chat with friends, even to do some work, completed with a small bench to buy some snacks and drinks. There were so many lockers outside the bedroom to store your luggage, and also shoe racks to place your shoes. There were 2 large bedrooms with more that 20 beds in it, arranged in bunk beds. The price depends on the level of the bed. The higher the bed, the cheaper the price. But, if you wanted to do an early check-in, you would be charged in amount of IDR 20.000,-. The bed itself was a single bed, placed inside the container, which made you quite difficult to move around. There was a light bulb to illuminate your container, and also a power socket to charge your devices. 3. The bathroom was large, consisted of several basins, large mirrors, toilet tubes, and shower tubes. It was very clean, and I was sure that the hotel’s attendants would always have cleaned it every day, but I also was anxious about everyone’s self hygiene. 4. There was no restaurant, because this Hotel didn’t offer any kind of meals, especially breakfast. But there were several street foods near the hotel which could be accessed by foot. 5. All the hotel’s attendants were nice, friendly, and helpful. It was a nice place to stay while we’re in transit or having a short stay.

Excellent hotel right in the heart of the city. Very convenient location. I stayed there for two nights and I would say my stay was quite pleasant. Sapcious rooms with a large sized double bed. I mean large double bed! The staff is quite polite, helpful and courteous. Specifically the Lobby / Restaurant Manager - Ms Octa. Octa helped me with lot of things right from the breakfast in the morning to get a cup of Hot Latte all the way to guiding me for the evening walkaround. On day I was to leave she suggested to get my breakfast packed as I was to leave early. Thanks much Octa for your kind help and guidance! Hope to see you next time I am in Semarang! The check in / check Out was hassle free. I would highly recommend if this is within your budget.

Grand Candi is an unpretentious hotel catering mainly to Indonesian population. The hotel looks tired, with faded decor and a strong smell of air freshener to disguise the old and scruffy furniture. The room I stayed in was clean and the bed comfortable. The drain in the bathroom overflowed every morning, spreading dirty water across the floor but this was a plumbing issue rather than one of routine maintenance. The food caters to Asian tastes and Westerners would be disappointed if they expected to see familiar options at breakfast. The poolside was horrendous - 3 heavy wooden sun loungers without cushions, one parasol rusted into a concrete stand, an abundance of ants and a 'poolside bar' which amounted to a hole in the wall with no service. Furniture outside was very uncomfortable. Inside was the gym which was basic, to say the least, but both pool and gym tend to be poorly attended so maybe not enough to be worth the cost of refurb. There was an excellent sauna and a spa that offered very good and accommodating massage, although the environment was not very conducive. But shining through all of this like a beacon was the hotel staff. Indonesian people are, by nature, friendly and eager to please and I cannot fault their attempts to make my (2-week) stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble; perhaps it was the novelty of having a Brit in the house, who knows? Fiy An, Augustin and Billy on the concierge desk shuttled me daily to my workplace in the car and back. In the bar, Anastasia and her trainee sidekick (Diane) together with YahYaha and Wayou were particularly delightful, as was Nanik. It was unfortunate that the bar area was almost permanently clouded in cigarette smoke. The Reception staff were fiercely professional and accurate, as well as eager to please. All in all my 2-week stay was made more than tolerable by the wonderful and friendly hotel staff. My room was clean and comfortable and the facilities were perfectly useable, if a little tired. My recommendation would be to have a smoking area in the hotel that did not mean having to wade through acrid smoke to enjoy a drink. It would also save the health of the bar staff who cannot escape.

We stayed in this hotel during our trip to Semarang, My sister booked a connecting room, I stayed with my wife and my 9y..o daughter, and my sis was in the next door room. The room that we stayed in has some smell, the staff said it's because the aircon has just been switched on, but I didn't think so because my sister's room didn't have that smell. The ensuite layout is rather odd and too narrow. The shower is almost fall off. The bedroom itself is fine, the service is also quite good. There is a rooftop swimming pool. Location is also good.

Good value for money. I booked 3 rooms. One of the non-smoking room smells like smoke, but the hotel switched it with another room, so problem was resolved pretty quickly. The hotel has sufficient selection of the ala carte food menu, it was freshly made therefor it tooks sometime. Great service 10/10 everyone was very friendly and helpful. Hotel has a small swimming pool, located outdoor with shades, next to the restaurant. Perfecr for family with small kids

I had my stay on 28 - 30 October. Overll the check in process was smooth and the room is comfort. The disaster happened on the next day when I went down for breakfast at 6:20 in the morning. I understand the bfast started from 6 am and the reason I went dow at 6:20 was to avoid the crowd and to select the seats we wanted. There was not many waitress in charge I have to call them for tea and coffee. The duration of waiting for coffee and tea ws about 30 mins until I have to contact them again and again. The weird things that there was nobody incharge in Semarangan section and Dimsum section and Roti Kukus Section ( I took the photo attached). I even asked the staffs what time the staff arrived and start serve the guests. One of the staffs said that some of them were still prepared the breakfast and the manager was not stand by also in the restaurant. It was terrible experience for 5 star hotel like Tentrem. On fact I had enjoyable and memorable stay and experience when I stayed at Padma Semarang on the previous stay. The staffs esp in the restaurant are more attentive and details. We live this place. Front desk staff super friendly. You can tell they are meticulous about COVID protocols - front desk had shields and all the staff wearing proper mask. The room are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included and it was very good breakfast not your typical nasi goreng and omelette! Good job chef! If you truly want to enjoy the scenery get to the rooftop / pool, the pool on the site were big and offerings best view of Semarang Downtown. I highly recommend this hotel!
