Very Nanyang-style hotel, there is no Chinese front desk and Chinese service, but the Indian brother and younger sister are very enthusiastic, the service attitude is very good, basic English can communicate, and the room hygiene is also very good. Breakfast is not as simple as the comments, although there are not many but very delicate, self-service forms, such as toast, curry horn, fried rice wrapped like hazelnuts, three sweet Nyonya cakes, various fruits (with Kiwi 🥝 )), coffee, tea, milk in the refrigerator, you can ask the younger brother. The only regret is that there are no twin rooms in the evening. There are only eight rooms in the hostel. The names are very interesting: they are rich in qi, purple, and come to the south (do not understand why it is not in the east), bamboo rafts...

I came to Penang for the second time. I wanted to live in E&O because the impression was too deep. Unfortunately, in the decoration, the toilet was wrong and came to Campbell House. However, after I checked in, my little regrets were dispelled. The decoration of the hotel and the room is full of Nanyang characteristics, the hardware facilities of the room are also very good, the most important thing is that the service attitude and quality of the staff are very satisfactory! In addition, the hotel breakfast is very good! The hotel is right in the heart of Georgetown. It is very convenient to walk to the sights. There are also a variety of restaurants and shops around, and the life is very convenient. In short, very recommended!

Location: Strategic location with walking distance to tourist attractions and famous eateries. Room: small but it attached with private bathroom. No TV. Bathroom: Clean, with hot water and toiletries. Amenities: Not sure whether it consider a gym room, but the gym area has weight to lift. There's common area to hangout. Cleanliness: the room is clean, but some common areas are dusty. Food: Not tried. Price: Reasonable as the location is superb. Service: Good service. The receptionist helped us carry out bag to our room. Parking: Not sure. I travel with Grab. But there's street parking. Overall recommendations: Strategic place with walking distance to tourist attractions and famous eateries. The loft is small but with necessary amenities. Common areas are Instagramable. If you would like to walk around in Penang old town and enjoy the hawker food, it is recommended for short stay in Kim Haus.

Used this place only as a place to shower and recuperate considering there was much to explore in Penang. Its located along the street where it comes to life at night between food and parties. It has ample private parking and you can definitely take advantage of leaving the car there considering how hectic traffic flow around the surrounding area can be. The place is a straightforward hotel and to me, it hits all the checklist for what I look for in an area like Chulia.

The hotel is strategically located in the downtown area of Georgetown. There is a handsome Chinese man at the front desk. The building has a history of 100 years, but the hotel was opened in 2010. It is antique and full of Nanyang features. The room is small but comfortable. Our family also upgraded to a private room on the second floor for free. You can walk to the dining and walking. The hotel is next to the Kee Roast, 3 minutes to Dadong Restaurant, 5 minutes to Shantou Street, Yueping bean sprouts chicken, and upside down the museum. The only downside is that the pool is too small and the water is normal and has a sour taste.

This is a boutique hotel. Our queen room was comfortable and ample for two of us. The bathroom was modern and light but keep in mind it is only separated from the room by a block out curtain. The exhaust fan works well though. Wifi in room 202 was sketchy but strong near the door or just outside it. It is fine in the common areas. The common areas and plunge pool are very pleasant indeed. Staff were helpful and always able to be found during their operating hours. There is a great kitchen area with a fridge etc. No fridge or tea making in room. Location is excellent. Windows are insulated letting in only the tiniest bit of noise on weekend nights. There is a two story walk up to the rooms but the manager insisted on carrying our bags. The no shoe policy was a bit of a nuisance but not uncommon in SE Asia. The included breakfast, served in the cafe next door, was great for the price. We appreciated having water supplied in jugs in both room and kitchen area and, having brought our own water bottles, didn’t buy a single plastic one. We would happily stay here again.

Overall five points praise, but my room is on the back, so the aunt's clean washing sound is too loud, I feel that my bed is open to wash ~, stayed for two nights, the third day check out and the front desk Miss communicated whether it was possible to check out at 2 o'clock. It was too hot outside. At night, the plane said that the hotel request was 12 o'clock. If I had to pay back 10 RM an hour, I agreed, and it was delayed for four hours. I gave 40 horses, I took a good rest~ The location is very good, convenient, I will fix it again next time, but I will change the room.

The room is big and beautiful. It’s not the hotel’s problem. Although it’s quiet during the day except for bird calls, I really can’t stand singing K loudly around two or three in the evening until midnight. I want to cry without tears! I don’t know if it’s only on weekends/holidays. We happened to be staying in the New Year’s Eve and the first and second day of the new year. It’s best to wear earplugs! In addition to the constant firecrackers, how could Jay Chou's song in the first and second grades of the first and second grades be so unpleasant? Although this quaint heritage hotel is beautiful and distinctive, it is basically not soundproof at all. People upstairs can hear every step of their walk. Those who are afraid of noise are best to choose the room upstairs.

Walking distance to almost everything in Georgetown: blue mansion, little india, St. George Chapel, Fort Cornwallis, Queen Victoria’s Clock Tower, etc. Lots of restaurants around. The hotel is small with two levels only. The room is clean and in good shape. It is not sound proof though. You can hear noises from outside and in the evening, the lights from the hallway comes through the lover glass above the door. A bit disturbing especially if you can’t sleep with lights on. If they could turn if off after midnight, would be great. Hot shower is excellent but the positioning of the shower is a bit weird. Right on top of the toilet. They provide towels, shampoo/body wash and lotion and tv but so far only sports channel is English. Hot and cold water for drinking is outside the ally. They also have a coffee shop that is open early in the for breakfast until afternoon. The mosque is right next door and the first prayer of the day starts at 06:00hrs.

The picture advertised was real !! Quiet surroundings and sgt privacy. Beautiful landscape sgt. The interior is very romantic. the whole room including the bathroom is sgt clean. Comfortable, fragrant bed. There's a mosquito net! Enough plug points. There are two water purifiers, showing the owner is very concerned about cleanliness and comfort. Electric mosquito repellent is ready to be installed, aerosol is provided, but we don't use it because there are no mosquitoes. Umbrellas are also provided. There is an electric fan. Extra point when they prepare afternoon tea at checkin - a tray of green tea, a piece of chocolate that is very choclatier (nyumm) and sweets served with a tray and a very classic tea set. The staff is very friendly - they just looked at our faces, they kept calling our names. Please take the luggage out of the car Small effort tp effective in the hearts of visitors, feel like welcome. Keep it up guys! The only thing missing is parking. Yet it should be accepted as it is a classic area. Definitely will come again for the next honeymoon (honeymoon till the end of our life😉).

Room was nice, big and comfort. We actually requested for 1 large double bed, but receptionist offer us bigger room with twin beds instead, it's fine actually as their using super single bed, enough to sleep with kid. Room lack of light and it can be better to have separate switch for each light instead of combine switch. Bathroom comes with bathtub and nice big toilet. Excellent water pressure to shower. It would be better if can have water hose beside toilet. Breakfast not many varieties, but it's okay as we don't eat much, just need some light breakfast, gotta hit the road. Still have egg station, toast and pastry, some local food(fried beehoon, nasi tomato, curry chicken, porridge, etc), fruits and salad. Coffee machine and many varieties of tea. Good location, walking distance to gurney drive street food, 2 malls. Free indoor parking. Check in and check out was fast. Staffs not so friendly but it's okay not rude.

Nice hotel with great decoration in the heart of George Town. Rooms are clean and just like what’s shown on the photos. Swimming pool was smaller than expected though. Also, the service was a bit disappointing at the front desk for a five star hotel. Most of the staff were nice and friendly but one receptionist wasn’t really polite to us. Overall okay with everything at the hotel, not really outstanding but everything’s decent.

We were warmly greeted during the check-in & offered ice cream as a welcome. Check in was a breeze & we were in our room less than 10mins. The rooms are big, clean & house keeping did a marvelous job of keeping our room clean & today. The availability of the roof garden provides a scenic view of the night scene of Penang. The location of the hotel was just next to Gurney Paragon where there several good restaurant available. For those who loves shopping, less than a 5mins walk you are in Gurney Plaza. One of the better shopping malls in Penang which caters to all sorts of choices from supermarket, retail & food. Next to the Plaza is the famous Gurney Food Centre where you can savor the local Penang food. Overall a good experience.

Le Embassy building is located in downtown Georgetown. The newly renovated hotel doesn't show its 63 years . From freshly re-renovated rooms to the unique mini 2 -floors lift to the chic cafe cum restaurant, Le Embassy Hotel certainly qualify as a good hotel with attractive room rates PRO Super friendly staff from reception to cafe. Hats to Ms Susan for her superb service Beautifully re-renovated rooms Very clean room and toilet Toiletries provided from toothbrush to soap to imported shower gel to disposable slippers Cosy beds and pillows (yes, 2 for each guest by default!) Simple yet delicious breakfast Awesome open concept (unique) lift - just very slow as it would need 30 sec to travel from Gnd to 2nd floor Walking distance to eateries such as Teochew Chendol and Roti Bakar Hutton Lane (2 of my fav) CON Very very limited parking bays Room though cosy needs more simple furnishing such as chairs and side table

I've stayed in Sunway Hotel every time I visited Penang. As this is the first time since covid, I noticed that the hotel had gone through a renovation. The lobby is so much brighter, and the room is pretty clean. The location of this hotel is fantastic, with street food just outside the hotel. The staff of this hotel is very courteous and helpful. The other thing I like is the gym is open 24hrs. I'll definitely book this wonderful hotel again on my next visit to Penang.

Location wise is ok. Check in was a long wait. Queue was very long. Phone etiquette should be improved. Don’t let the guest wait for more than 3 rings. Even how busy it gets, other guests wouldn’t know the situation. Room was ok. Pool too crowded. Overall, I’d come back again for a 2nd try.

I request a beautiful view for my room, but end up what I get is NO VIEW at all and at a lower floor, abit disappointed because is our anniversary so I thought can see from the window for a stunning view and can have nice photo to take for our 30th anniversary. Tho I don’t receive a nice view room, but i was shocked to received a nice Anniversary Cake from the hotel, so sweet, thank you to Jen hotel. The location here is consider ok cos we walk to art alley and have nice pictures for the art lane, their local food was good if you can find their best In town but just need ti check when is their day off. We are unlucky to choose on Wednesday which all my makan wish list all closed!!! Oh yes, not forgetting their mao Shan Wang durian, it was so good and shiok to eat on the spot! My experience told me next trip to Penang, never choose evening flight cos after you reach the hotel, you can’t find any good food around, just room service. I ordered the food but not exactly like what the menu stated “king prawns” for their char kueh teow, they served normal prawns only, disappointed for the price cos never get what we looking forward! The only thing calm me down is lucky the food taste good, plus their service very good here, thumbs up! I’m comfortable to stay here, hopefully the next trip I can get higher floor to enjoy the night view.

The service provided was as expected. Staff were friendly. 3-star hotel facility as expected. However I noticed few things that can be improved; 1. The hot shower was difficult to set. while I had comfortable hot shower suddenly the water turned very cold. 2. Terrible noise came from the floor below (it was like a ballroom and I was made to undertsand that a group of people were having wedding party.) Asked to change the room but was declined as the rooms elsewhere would have the same problem. However the staff promised to ask the organizer to tune down the volume of the music. The music stopped completely around 12.00mn. I guessed the party was over. 3. Only 1 pillow provided. too soft and became flat. very uncomfortable. Wished I brought my own. Plus 1. Aircond good (though there was a msg from the display to clean the filter) 2. Coffe making available. 3. Slippers (however the size a bit too small for my feet) 4. bed, mattress and blanket were good. Can't comment about food because I did not consume hotel food. Thank you.

Stayed here one night in family suites with 2 rooms with my 2 kids, the hotel is not far from Komtar penang. Parking is not an issue even for our MPV, their rotating car park with escalator can move the car into empty slot. Check-in is fast and we stayed at level 19th with nice city and some ocean view. Room is very big with a living room, master room with big washroom and changing cabinet, and another connecting room. Wifi is fast and there are 19 tv channels to choose from. Next morning we went for their gym at level 22, not very big but good enough with 5-6 workout machines. Breakfast is at level 21 buffet styles, choice is just nice, not many but food is ok with reasonable price, only RM21 per pax.
