Rome|0.55km from Fiumicino – Leonardo Da Vinci International AirportCheck in is a long……disaster. I stayed here 2 weeks in a row for my early am flight and it is consistent. There are 2 people who work the desk and many weary travelers. My wait time on Sunday was 1 hour and 20 minutes. Inexcusable and I kindly told the person when it was my turn. Clearly understaffed. Although the staff is very gracious and courteous and “understand”.
The rooms are great. American style, large, with a big TV and coffee pot in the room. Bathroom excellent. AC works very well.
I was very disappointed that their previous courtesy bus which left hourly from the hotel to a drop off point near the Colosseum for shopping and touring is no longer in existence. It was always my highlight for this short, must stay, stopover. Oh well. Taxis are still available.
Buffet breakfast is very nice with many options available.
Finally, odd as it may sound, the hairdryer requires a 2 prong receptacle outlet. The room has ONLY 3 prong receptacles. Luckily after looking high and low I recalled I had my personal converter. I gave my feedback to the check out person ( who kindly empathized with me and asked if I checked behind the TV). “No”. I wasn’t moving the TV. He then said, “We have converters here at the front desk. Next time just call”. My thought was - next time buy hair dryers that work with your outlets.
Overall, it is a nice hotel and very quick walk to the airport via overhead walkway/ connecting bridge.
PS. It is a 4 STAR IN QUALITY but I will give it 3 STARS for shortage of staff to check clients in.
