A big, bright, spacious, modern & stylish reception area & foyer make an instant positive first impression on entering the hotel. That positive feeling rose again after a very friendly & informative check in by Daniella during which I filled in a registration form & showed my passport as proof of my identity. I was given info on the free Wi-Fi which did not require a password to connect to, about the restaurant opening hours & breakfast which commenced at 07:00. As I had an early flight on the next morning & had to leave the hotel at 05:45, Daniella suggested booking, for free, a prepared takeaway breakfast which I could collect when checking out. She also suggested booking a 05:00 alarm call which I did & that I book the hotel’s free shuttle bus to the airport which I wasn’t even aware that they had. I also spoke with Alin(sp) at reception later in the evening & he too was very helpful & friendly. With my 1 room key card in hand, I was quickly in to one of the 3 lifts & on the way up to my 1st floor room. A big room, clean & modern with a carpet floor, wardrobe, safe, very large & comfortable double bed (2 twin beds pushed together), reading lights, folding luggage rack, huge full length mirror, armchair, table, complimentary bottle of still mineral water, wall mounted tv, work desk, chair, footstool/pouffe, smoke alarm, empty fridge which was the minibar (can still order items from reception), kettle & 1 teabag, coffee machine & 1 pod, a number of spare electrical sockets & aircon ranging from 17 to 27 degrees. I found the room to be quite dim & dark at night even with all the lights on. There was a large window, but I cannot comment on how much natural light there was during daylight hours as I arrived & left in the dark. I could hear some noise from outside but nothing too annoying & I had absolutely no issues with noise from inside the hotel. The free Wi-Fi was excellent, as I mentioned earlier, no password required & it was quick to connect to with fast speeds & was reliable. The bathroom was size wise, ok. It was clean but a little tired looking compared to the sleeping area with a tiled floor, tiled walls, wall mounted hairdryer, dual voltage shaver socket, large mirror, shaving/makeup mirror, towels, large shower enclosure with a shower head & hose on a riser rail, easy to control shower valve, all in one hand/hair/body wash in a wall dispenser in the shower cubicle with another one at the wash hand basin & 2 ceiling vents. The shower water pressure was excellent, but the hot water was quite slow to come through but when it eventually did, there was an abundance of it. I had dinner in the Bull Restaurant in the foyer. I went in at 20:45 & it was very quiet with just one couple seated & eating. There was a nice selection on the menu & the service from Elena, who also served at the bar, was superb, very helpful, very friendly & we had a great long conversation as the bar & restaurant were so quiet.
