I was lucky enough to have the apartment at this property all to myself and what a space it was. The views across Lake Rotorua were stunning. The hosts were helpful in giving me some ideas about what to do/see and where to eat whilst in the area. The complimentary limoncello each evening was a nice touch but it would have been even nicer if the hosts had taken this time to engage with their guests instead of leaving people to help themselves. I suspect that’s why my fellow guests chose not to participate. If I were to improve anything it would be to have a valuables safe in the room and USB portals for charging devices. I will definitely try to visit this property again as 2 nights didn’t really do it justice.

This hotel has a great location, especially if you don't drive yourself. Downstairs is a street for eating, and the opposite is Lake Rotorua. Several must-go attractions are all directly accessible by public buses. The bus terminal is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. There is no bus after 7pm, so it is not noisy. There are many bubble pools in the hotel, and there is also a large water temperature lower for children to play. On the day of the child’s birthday, the hotel gave the cake a gift, thank you very much. The hotel is generally a high-star old hotel in China, and its hardware is incomparable with the newly renovated ones. It probably still stayed at the domestic four or five-star level in the 1990s. The staff service was not bad, but no one answered the phone, such as room service a little later, it is considered part of New Zealand culture, not a problem exclusive to individual hotels. The breakfast is very cost-effective. It is more suitable if you are too lazy, because children don't need money, for example, my elder is 11 years old and it is free. Although the breakfast is very mediocre, the price/performance ratio is not bad for a family, after all, there is no need to eat out.

False advertising on Booking.com when looking, then arrived and didn’t get what was on the website at all. It was old and out-dated, the bathroom was way too small (height-wise) for the average human (my husband is 6’3ft and I’m 5’9 and we both struggled to use the bathroom facility). My husband could smell black mold on arrival as well, which is unsafe for someone like myself who has asthma. Half of the items that are listed are not there, such as soundproofing. I live in a busy city in an apartment block not far from the main roads, bars, train tracks, as well as an airport and we have more soundproof rooms here than at a supposed 4 star resort. We were there for our wedding and honeymoon, it honestly affected the whole honeymoon for us and we had to come home early in the end as the bed was so uncomfortable it messed up my husband’s back. We felt they didn’t really care about making the experience enjoyable for us, we felt we were more a money-making machine than a customer who is entitled to a good experience, especially when staying at a supposed 4 star resort, with a spa attached (which I found through review you have to pay for, $30 to sit in a lukewarm spa). We didn’t let the staff know of these problems as we found them rude and unprofessional, especially at check in. On check in, as my mother had booked the place, I thought it was paid for. Just to find out from a very rude manager, that it had not been paid for. He then went on to be very condescending towards myself and my mother on the phone when I had to ring her up. And as a couple who has worked in hospitality before, it was OHS nightmare honestly. We didn’t eat at the restaurant as it looked closed the whole time and it was very over priced for small portions. We also didn’t use the spa section as well, due to price and the fact we saw reviews about the spas not being warm. We will never be returning and I will definitely NOT be recommending anyone stay here unless you enjoy back pain and getting the flu or Covid-19 with the black mold in the rooms.

From Ctrip's point of view, this hotel should be the highest rated and close to the hot spring, so we decided to go with four couples and set up four double bed rooms for two nights. One of the rooms in the hotel was a standard room. , Two single beds, so my husband went to the front desk and asked for a double bed room. The hotel people said there was no way to change it. There was only one night bed room. The problem is if you do n’t have us Why does the system not show that no rooms have been sold out? No matter what the reason is, the hotel people have an attitude and ca n’t change it. The first thought for this four-star hotel was bad reviews. Apparently ordered four large beds. After three rooms, there was a helpless look. Is this my problem? We could n’t make up for it. The money was paid in advance. The facilities in the room were really shocking. The red blankets on the bed were pilling. They looked very dirty. To be honest, I'm not the best or the worst. I wouldn't comment. On the first night of the stay, except for me and another friend in the room, everyone went to the hotel for a hot spring, less than half an hour. They all came back. Everyone said that the water was warm and cold. I wouldn't go if I knew it. I was especially grateful that I didn't go. A hotel's poor hardware facilities can be solved, and the software ca n’t be saved if it does n’t go up! Bad review! Never go again next time!
