This was my return visit to this hostel, and I must say I was dissppointed. Last time, on another platform, I gave it an 8/10 rating, but now I think I was too generous. Besides smiling, but not good English-speaking staff (and smile doesnt always solve problems like an informed action), and affordable price, it was hard to find all those benefits I thought this hostel had. Hot water dispenser wasnt working, but even cold drinking water wasnt accessible - i had to ask the staff 3 times for somebody to refill the machine. But the next morning empty again - there should be a system in place and not counting on guests for chasing down staff to fix it whenever the water tank is empty. I say chasing as there is rarely someone at the reception. They might be cleaning the rooms (good luck in finding them), but frankly rooms werent that clean. Floors were praying for mopping, dust in the bathroom fan wanted to leave too... there was even a clearly visible stain on my bed sheet upon checking in, but the staff replaced the sheet immediately (they could have spotted it when they were making the bed the first time maybe? Locker was not working, so the member of the staff had to use knife to make it work. The other storage place was also full of some crumble, i assume it is not on the cleaning list too often. AC in the room didnt seem to work properly. There was always a feeling of the temperature being too cold, whether the tehermostat was fixed at 18 or 25 degrees Celsius, you were freezing even undet the blanket. Privacy curtains are still transparent (?), and the doors of the room close loudly. Shower was more of a drizzle - the water pressure did not meet basic requirements. In the first shower, it wasnt even warm. I entered the second one, where the heater was working better, but you could not shower with water practically just dripping on you. All in all, there are other similarly priced hostels in Phuket that offer a better service.

Highly recommended! We felt completely at home here. We stayed in a one-bedroom and it was quite spacious and had a very large bathroom with a wet and dry area. Hot water was readily available. There was daily cleaning. The room came with basic amenities including 4 towels, soap, shampoo, bathmat, coffee, cups, TV, clothes hanger. There was also a balcony but since there were a lot of mosquitoes, we rarely used it. There was also a microwave in the pantry area that was very useful. The room was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were lots of restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. Breakfast was available everyday (coffee, milo, bread, margarine and jam). There is also a pool and lots of places to lounge. We really loved the place but just some points for feedback: The sink area in the pantry had a lot of mosquitoes, probably could use some fogging. Maybe butter can be served instead of margarine during breakfast as a healthier option. The rooms could be provided with door signs so that guests can indicate if they want their rooms to be cleaned or not. It would also be very helpful if the rooms could come with a chair which can be used for work. We look forward to staying here again!

The hotel is 10 minutes walk around 500 meters from the airport. But no one will guide you as the taxi touts will wamt to make money. I got on to the maim road not twards the domestic aiport & meter taxi but on the opposite side & walked 10 minutes to the first 7eleven. Opp is a **** sho called gare 432. Get inside the lane next to it & walk upto the next 7Eleven there u will see the hotel board at the 7Eleven. Next to the 7 Elwven there is a lane. Walk up to the end. U will see small Buddha stature.& bike rental shop. Next to it is the hotel board. Take a right and at the end of the road is Snug.

All good, I like the staffs, are so cooperative. just the guyz late night snores and gossips were disturbing from neighbour bed. There is a common flat table, a big aircon on top of the side, i was working on the table, siddenly the aircon started leaking, my laptop keyboard got wet badly, i thought it will not work. I was upset and quickly turned off laptop and dried by using my hair dryer and thank God it started working. Otherwise my travel can be so stressful.

Good hostel, quiet in the section, close to the beach, around the epicenter of active life, friendly hosts. Keep in mind that you may have to go up to the 4th floor without an elevator, in my section on the first evening in the shower there was only very-very hot water and it was not regulated in any way, it was a problem. Otherwise, everything is ok

The hotel is located right next to the famous Old town phuket. There is a shopping center right next to the hotel where you can buy everything you need. Sometimes there is a night market in front of the hotel on, so it can get loud here. But there is very good food, music and all kinds of souvenirs. There was free water and snacks in the room. For a beach vacation, it is better to book a hotel in Patong, Kata or Karon. Although the beaches can also be reached by bus or cab, it can be difficult to get back to Phuket City in the evening.

Although the price was very low, it was a clean and comfortable hotel. The air conditioner remote control in the room I stayed in was broken and I couldn't change the temperature or turn it off. The temperature was originally set low, so the room was very cold and I had to wear lots of jackets. The person at the front desk said I would call a technician right away, but that was a lie. The technician never came. Also, it was very disappointing that the drain in the bathroom was clogged and the water in the shower only flowed slowly, causing the bathroom to flood. Other than the problems with the air conditioner and bathroom, and the lack of an elevator, the facilities are very good. I had a comfortable stay. It's close to the bus stop for the airport, so it's recommended for a stay before returning home.

IIvan KraljEven if it ended with a nice gesture, the receptionist handing me a keychain gift (not sure if they do that with all guests), with a written request to leave 10/10 review, sadly I couldn't ignore the shortcomings of this hostel that seemed like just a downgraded version of Marco Polo Poshtel (not sure which one came first, but from breakfast to ”funny” wall messages, there was a similar ”creative” signature). While I was initially attracted by reviews mentioning hostel's cleanliness, I couldn't say I shared the same opinion. Certain public areas were quite messy. The staircase to the first floor (where shoes are forbidden) didnt seem to be cleaned for some time. In the showers (which had a good water pressure), there was mold. None of the three handsoap dispensers in the only bathroom had soap in them. It just felt the staff doesnt have time or organizational skills to maintain everything in working order. But I was mostly surprised by finding a not clean (i dont want to call it ”used”) bed cover in my bed. It had some fresh stains, hair and crumbles (well, not just on bed cover), and seemed just to be folded after the guest before me (even the folding seemed messed up, so i really thought maybe the bed was forgotten). When I asked the housekeeping to change it, they initially approved. The younger housekeeper started changing everything, sheet included (which i believe is a good way to do it, when it is not certain if the bed was completely changed), but when the older one returned, she made her put the sheet back (the sheet that was thrown on the floor in the meantime), laughing all along. No, that wasnt really funny. Then instead of letting the young housekeeper put on the new bed cover she brought along, i noticed that the older one brought something that seemed to be the same old bed cover that i complained about (the duvet was already inside). When i asked if that is a new thing, she was convincing me it was. Already at that moment, i felt ridiculed. But i said, ”okay, if you say so.” After all was done, i came back to my bed, unfolded the bed cover and confirmed my doubt - all this performance of changing the bed, without them changing anything! The only difference was that the bedsheet was also on the floor in the meantime. This got me really frustrated, mostly because they lied to my face (what for?), and mostly because they invested energy in ”changing” everything while actually just stripping everything off and returning it (why? It takes the same amount of energy to do it for real). Feeling like an *****, i asked what seemed to be the problem? Dont they have clean bedding, or what? But they had. I asked them to give it to me then, and i would happily prepare the bed myself. Which they accepted. Lol. I dont know, with that poor breakfast, the visual mess, unpleasant ”toilet” scent at hostel entrance, and generally low level of cleanliness (you can see how yellow the pillow is once you remove the pillow case yourself), it felt that other reviews mentioning spotless hygiene were misleading. Or were my standards too high? In any case, i stayed in a dozen of Phuket hostels during my month here, but none of them tried to insult my intelligence. There are better places, and no, Dorm Hostel sadly doesnt deserve 10/10, to quote the request they tell everyone at check-out. I also tried to leave them space for hostel improvement, so instead of lowest marks, i left average ones, even if the experience was truly below average. P.S. When a guest asks whether a ferry with a pick-up operates everywhere in Phuket, a genuinely helpful answer would be ”yes”. And not ”no, it's only our hostel's pickup”. I understand everyone just tries to earn money, but it shouldn't be done by misleading guests who just trustfully ask for information.

22morrowsworldMy initial thought on this accommodation business is in some ways positive. If it is viewed purely as a 'hostel' with an associated coffee shop, then it definitely has attributes (and I'll come back to those later). But if taken at face value on the basis of its tariff cost and amenities, both real and indicated, then there are several problems with it. The first is the way the premises is represented on the Trip com platform. Photographs of the double bedroom include one of a bathroom. The attached text description and its context makes the plain implication that the room has an ensuite bathroom, which it does not. If little scrutiny is applied when reading the description, this fact will escape the readers attention. Anyone looking to make a reservation quickly can easily be misled (inadvertently?) into believing that this is a 'hotel' style room. Many hostels do offer rooms with ensuite bathrooms after all. The bathroom is communal and is inconveniently located on the ground floor. Rooms are above this. A second related criticism is the room size description - 18 m sq is quoted. The room has dimensions of 3 x 3.5 m. That is, about 10 m sq ! Although late February is still peak season in Phuket, it has to be said that the room tariff of almost $60 AUD per night is exorbitant. It may be considered acceptable for a 18 m sq hotel style room, given the circumstances, but a room of this kind at this particular locality ought to be offered at a lower price. Having said this, I concede that the reservation was made late and in haste. Now onto the good things. The 10 m sq double bed room has old but high quality wooden furniture which serves its purpose well. The air conditioning is responsive and strong There is a large kitchen next to the bathroom/wash basin (trough). It's equipped with a large fridge, sink, cutlery etc as well as a coffee maker ( + ground coffee). A delicious banana cake was offered to guests. Clothes can be washed and dried via a coin operated machine. Other attributes include the woman owner/ manager who has a professional approach and an attitude very well suited to the hospitalality jndustry. The coffee shop also makes decent coffees and ham n cheese croissants.

AAnonymous UserI really loved the place! It is SSOOOOOO clean! I wanted to stay longer. It is near 7 Eleven (which is common in Thailand.😀😄) It is also ear the airport. One guest told me he walked from the airport to the hostel, and I wish I did the same. Haha. I took the bus which was near the domestic departure area. It cost 100 baht. Anyway, I walked from the hostel to Nai Yang Beach and Sirinat National Park to get a short glimpse of the beach! I really loved it. Here are some suggestions I'd like to make: 1) Make the signage outside bigger especially for those who'll be arriving at night. I arrived at 7pm and struggled to find on Google Maps where the hostel was. It took me 15 minutes to walk back and forth before I saw I was standing in front of it! Lol. It's beside Wyndham Royal Lee Phuket. 2) The bar was closed on the night I stayed, so that's a good thing. Maybe do something about the loud music just in case, so that guests will have a good sleep especially those who have an early flight/travel schedule. 3) I couldn't find a female dorm and male dorm option, so I assume all rooms are mixed dorms for men and women. I would suggest working on having a female dorm and a male dorm separately. I was a bit nervous at first when it was only me and a guy in the room, then luckily another guy arrived. I was about to book a nearby hotel for 350 baht because I wasn't comfortable and would've been unable to sleep had the second male guest not arrived. Other than those, this hostel is PERFECT! *nice and welcoming staff *shower with shampoo and soap (which I never experienced in my former hostel stays in Malaysia and Laos) *clean toilets with tissue *cabinet with towel and key (I had to pay for my towel use in Laos) *locker with key *really nice living room with free water and tissue (Again, never experienced this in other hostels.) Oh I still have so many good things to say about the place! I'll definitely come back to enjoy the beach more. Thank you so much! 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓

IIvan KraljStill great hostel to stay in, my second visit in a short time. I stayed in the same room, different capsule, so not much to add. Except that the locker in this one was broken. Im sure maintenance will repair it immediately. I stayed only one night so it wasnt that urgent. Good value for money, high comfort, but they should really do something about the noise from the bathroom. It is awkward to listen your roommates emptying their bowels in the morning :( or soaping up while showering.

IIvan KraljThe mattress was comfortable, but sadly the top middle beds are not the best place to put tall people (as they will inevitably hit beams with their head). Also, the electricity socket in my bed wasnt sturdy enough to hold a charger in place, so i had to improvize with putting a bag and a cap as the base, so it wouldnt be following out. AC in the rooms is turned off between 11:30 and 16:30, fyi. In terms of other facilities, everything else seemed spacious enough. Actually so spacious that i think the architect could have put additional toilets in the bathroom, as two didnt seem to be enough for the 1st floor (30ish people?). There were however 3 urinals, most awkwardly placed near the always opened doors, and sinks used by everyone (the bathroom is unisex). It would have made sense to get rid of these, and rather have another toilet. As for showers, there are three. Water pressure was fine, even if it was hard to get truly warm/hot water. Shower gel/shampoo available, as well as necessary hooks to hang your stuff. Breakfast was a simple scrambled egg with a slice of toast and butter, cabbage salad with mayonnaise, and a cheap sausage. Fine to start a day, but not so fulfilling. Coffee and tea available at breakfast, water throughout the day. You can also use the kitchen to make your own lunch or dinner. In the lobby and outside, quite a few areas to hang out and chill. If you wanted to play pool, thats 20 baht. Board games were for free. Top floor has washing machines (50 baht per load) and a dryer (10 for 5 min), but i think you would have to spend quite some time there reloading the coins. After 2 turns that didnt dry much, i hanged my laundry on limited hanging space, but beware if you do that, as it can be windy, and many clothes were flying around. The staff is approachable and hospitable, even if their basic level of English can lead to quite a few misunderstandings, as I witnessed.
