Very clean, shower and toilet inside and outside the room. Bed are big enough and comfortable. Breakfast is provided! Toast, ham, cheese and various spreads. The crowd is very different from any hostel I stayed before, many middle age people and even kids!! So might not be the perfect place for you if you want to make friends. Fabulous stay. Love the quiet, serene ambience although there are sounds of dogs and animals which is common in nature. The host, Mr Zhang is so warm and helpful that we felt treated like old friends coming for a visit. There is a dog and many cats in the house but non threatening. They make themselves scarce, somehow if guests are afraid of them. As the BnB is up on the mountain, it’s easier to get around if there a car. The host goes out of his way to help and provide advice on where to go and how to get there. Perfect host! The only room with twin beds is the family room for four. The other room is spacious to with king or queen beds. A good place for a retreat.

We checked in on 9/18. The hotel, environment, and service were all very good. What I think needs to be improved is the breakfast. If you stay at this price, breakfast is a very important part. I was dumbfounded by the breakfast. , There are also few options for afternoon tea. We stayed in the first building when it opened. It felt great at that time. Everything was in place, including breakfast and afternoon tea. This time I felt a little lost.

We had a very good stay at the Fantasy Apartment, overall! First and foremost, I want to thank the host, who was super helpful and informative! The room layout is a bit out of the ordinary, but the place was clean and comfortable. The tub was a bit wobbly upon entering/exiting it, so I'd suggest fixing it to the floor better, but the water temperature and pressure were fantastic. Pros: friendly host (but make sure you have a Translation app if you don't speak Chinese), near Hualien Station, 24hour laundromat nearby, places to eat nearby, and places to rent bikes. Cons: wobbly bath, and floor-to-ceiling window (however there are curtains).

We got upgraded to a bigger quad room with windows for free, which was very nice. Room: The room space may be small if you have many luggages, but there's no complaining at this price range because it's a steal! You can save some space if you bring your luggage to your bedside.
