If you’ve ever Googled “Singapore hotel with the rooftop pool,” you’ve definitely seen Marina Bay Sands pop up. It's not only a hotel, but also a landmark of Singapore. I’d seen it in every travel guide, Instagram reel, and even a few Netflix shows. It felt like the kind of place you book for the experience, not just the bed.

I wanted something special. Whether it was the rooftop infinity pool, the skyline, or just finally seeing what the hype was about, Marina Bay Sands felt like a “must-do” at least once.

How to Get There?

From Changi Airport, just take a Grab straight to the hotel. The ride takes about 20 minutes with light traffic. The drop-off point is well-marked. From the moment I pulled up, you could tell this wasn’t your average hotel. 

If you're coming by MRT, Bayfront Station (CE1/DT16) connects directly to the property. MRT services to/from Bayfront MRT station operate daily from approximately 6am to 12am midnight. It’s also super convenient even without a car.

Near the Hotel

You’re right in the middle of it all. Marina Bay Sands connects directly to The Shoppes, and just a short walk away you’ve got Gardens by the Bay, the ArtScience Museum, and the Helix Bridge. Whether you want city views, nature, or shopping, it’s all just downstairs or a few minutes' walk.

First Impressions & Check-In at Marina Bay Sands Singapore

Walking into the lobby felt more like entering an airport terminal than a typical hotel. The lobby is huge. You can see tall ceilings, glass everywhere, and a constant hum of guests wheeling luggage, taking photos, or checking in. It was clearly a tourist hotspot. 

But despite the crowd, the front desk was well-organised. I queued for about 10 minutes, which isn’t bad considering the scale. Staff were professional and fast, though the service leaned more efficient than warm. No welcome drink or small talk, just a smooth handover of keys and information.

The Room: What It’s Really Like

I booked a Premier King Room with Gardens By the Bay view. When I first walked in, the space felt sleek and modern. There are lots of neutral tones, clean lines, and full-height windows that really stole the show. The view overlooked the city skyline and the Singapore River, and at night, it was seriously stunning. You could just sit by the window and watch the lights come alive.

The room itself was spacious enough for two people to move around comfortably. The bed was firm but cosy, with crisp linens and plenty of pillows. Tech-wise, there’s a hotel app you can use to check in and access services, and you can adjust the room lighting with simple wall controls. 

The bathroom had a bit more wow factor: sliding doors and a deep soaking tub. Water pressure was strong, and the hotel provided a good range of amenities. They also included TWG tea, which I appreciated as a nice local touch.

I also appreciated the little details: a beautifully designed kettle and matching ceramic cups, plus a well-stocked minibar with a few small bottles of wine and spirits. Definitely more premium than your average hotel room.

Marina Bay Sands Singapore Restaurants

Marina Bay Sands is home to over 80 restaurants, cafes and bars, offering a wide range of cuisines from fine dining to casual eats. It’s truly a food lover’s paradise!

During my stay, I had the chance to try Spago by Wolfgang Puck, which did not disappoint. The views from the rooftop alone are worth the visit. The menu blends Californian cuisine with local ingredients, and the dishes were fresh, beautifully presented, and surprisingly satisfying. Prices were definitely on the higher side, but it felt like a special treat.

I also had my eye on Cut by Wolfgang Puck, known for its steaks, and Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer with delicious burgers and crazy milkshakes. If you’re not in the mood for fancy dining, there is plenty of casual food in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands too.

Dining here can be a bit of a splurge, but the quality, atmosphere, and sheer variety make it easy to justify. It's a perfect experience, especially if you want to celebrate something special or just enjoy a memorable meal with a view.

🏊‍♀️Marina Bay Sands Singapore Infinity Pool 

This was the main reason I booked the stay. The rooftop infinity pool on the 57th floor is as iconic as it gets. The view was breathtaking, especially early in the morning when the sun was just rising over the skyline. It felt peaceful and almost surreal. If you want that perfect edge-of-the-world photo, go early. There were plenty of towels, and the staff were quick to help if you needed anything.

🌇SkyPark Observation Deck 

As a hotel guest, I had access to the SkyPark without needing to queue like the public visitors. The deck offers panoramic views of Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore Strait. It’s a great place to just take a walk and enjoy the breeze.

🏋️The Gym 

I was impressed by how well-equipped the gym was. It’s open 24 hours and has cardio machines, free weights, and stretching space — all with huge windows facing the skyline. It wasn’t too crowded when I went in the evening, and the space was clean and modern, with chilled towels and water provided.

🧖‍♀️The Spa 

While I didn’t manage to book a treatment, I stopped by the Banyan Tree Spa just to have a look, and it looked seriously serene. It’s perched on the same level as the pool and gym, and the vibe was quiet and calming, with views of the bay. Probably a great spot if you're here for a relaxing weekend or celebrating something.

🛍️Shopping & Casino

Just downstairs, the hotel connects to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, which is basically a luxury mall filled with designer brands, cafés, and even a small canal. It’s fun to window shop even if you’re not splurging. If you’re into gaming, the casino is also located within the complex, though it’s more of a “just to see it once” kind of thing for me.

Marina Bay Sands isn’t just for tourists — it’s a full-on business hub too. The hotel has conference halls and meeting rooms. If you're coming for work or planning a big event, there’s no shortage of space. The business centre is open daily and has printing, meeting pods, and concierge support if needed.

Service at Marina Bay Sands felt polished and efficient. It's more business-like than warm, but everything I needed was handled quickly.

The concierge staff were helpful when I asked for directions to Gardens by the Bay and gave me some quick tips on the best time to visit. It wasn’t the super personal service you might get at a smaller boutique hotel, but overall, things ran like a well-oiled machine. It's professional, fast, and reliable.

🌳 Gardens by the Bay

Just a short walk from the hotel, this is the go-to spot for a scenic stroll. The Supertree Grove looks amazing at night when it lights up, and the Cloud Forest is a cool escape from the heat. 

🖼️ ArtScience Museum

You’ll spot it right away. That is a lotus-shaped building next to the hotel. I went for the Future World exhibit, and it was super interactive and fun to explore. Great for couples, families, or a quick break from the shopping crowds.

🌁 Helix Bridge

I crossed this bridge to get to the Esplanade area. It’s a short, scenic walk with some of the best photo spots of the Marina Bay skyline. Go around sunset or after dark when the lights come on.

🎭 Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay

Just across the Helix Bridge, the Esplanade is Singapore’s main arts venue. Even if you’re not catching a performance, the area is lovely for a walk, and the rooftop terrace offers a great view of Marina Bay.

Would I Stay Again?

Staying at Marina Bay Sands was definitely a splurge. But for the view, the infinity pool, and the overall experience, I’d say it was worth it at least once. 

I think couples, first-time visitors to Singapore, or anyone looking to treat themselves would enjoy it most. If you’re more into quiet boutique hotels or travelling on a tight budget, this might feel a bit too much.

Would I come back? Probably. But only for a celebration, like an anniversary or when I want that wow factor again. It’s not an everyday stay, but it’s one I won’t forget.
