Yiwu is a city in central Zhejiang province of China and has a population of 1.2 million people. Its area is made of Yiwu and Dongyang cities. The city has a very long and rich history, it was founded during Qin Dynasty in 222 BC as Wushang county, in 624 AD it was renamed Yiwu County. The city has been a historically important trading city, even during the 1600s the men of this city would travel to surrounding lands to sell small commodities. Today this city is known for the vibrant market, small commodity trade, and regional tourist destination. The city is also known as one of the largest producers of fashion jewellery in China.
