Attractions in Labuan:

Labuan botanical garden is a splendid garden which was once the residence of British Governors and Residents. Next to the Botanical Garden is Gurudwara Sahib Labuan. The main Sikh temple of Labuan is an extravagant building and is a place of worship for most of Sikh community of Labuan. Visit the Taman Antarabangsa Borneo clock tower, which is the exact replica of Labuan Clock Tower. The original clock tower from 1906 was demolished in 1948. Other popular tourist attractions of Labuan are Labuan War Cemetery & The Labuan Memorial, Pantai Tanjung Batu, Marine Museum, Ramsey Point, Patau-Patau Water Village, the Chimney, and West Coast Beaches.

Tip: Enjoy a diving tour to the four shipwrecks of Labuan. Do remember to book a diving tour before coming, as it is very popular for both amateur and experienced divers. 

Eating and drinking in Labuan:

Labuan due to its proximity to the coast is known for its fresh seafood. Apart from the delicious seafood, try the popular dessert “Coconut pudding” and BBQ chicken wings, a Labuan delicacy. The pudding is available in almost all good restaurants at a reasonable price. Best BBQ chicken wings are found at roadside stalls at Kampung Sunagai Keling. Another must-try local dessert is punjung, a cone with green jelly type fillings and wrapped in banana leaf. Best restaurants are found in Tanjung Aru, Kampung Batu Arang, Utama Jaya and near Labuan International Sea Sport Complex. 

Alcohol is duty-free in Labuan, so it is very reasonably priced. The main evening entertainment of the area is lounges and clubs. Some of the popular ones are located in Tanjung Aru and Utama Jaya. 

Tip: Prostitution is prevalent in most clubs and bars in Labuan. Though some are free from it. So enquire beforehand, from your hotel before going.
