Join the Tanjore painting workshop in Singapore and learn the traditional art of Tanjore paintings. This workshop will introduce you to the techniques of Tanjore painting and guide you step by step in creating a beautiful and intricate piece of art on a wooden board.

Tanjore paintings are a revered form of art that originated in Tamil Nadu, India, and dates back to 1600 C.E. The Nayaks of Thanjavur were the chief patrons of this art, known for its rich gold work, vibrant colors, and devotional compositions. Shalini Gupta, a highly skilled artist with a portfolio of over 100 acclaimed paintings, will be conducting this workshop.

No prior experience is required to attend the workshop. Shalini will teach you how to emboss, apply gold foil, paint, shade, and design in the Tanjore style. The workshop consists of eight sessions, each lasting two hours, and will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The exact dates will be determined based on participant availability, so please send an email to discuss the next available dates.

I recommend entering the park around 3 or 4 PM so you can see the night view and light show together! The light show, which is usually free, now requires an entrance fee due to the Christmas limited-time event 😂

Worth the ticket, a little dark when walking the traila so those with difficulties seeing at night may need to bring a torch. The amphitheater show is just soso, but nice introduction to some of the nocturnal animals. Highlight is the train ride - somehow almost all the animals were active and within visible distance from the train. Food prices are ok, just slightly higher than outside. Staff are warm and helpful. Will recommend to anyone who is looking for a wholesome activity at night.

Although it rained when we went today, it stopped after a while, so it was still a lot of fun. The kids kept asking for more laps, and even after buying four laps, it still wasn&#39;t enough. The scenery on the mountain was also great, and the rides were easy to pick up and play &ndash; no lines! It was a very lucky day.
