Join us for the Silversmithing Level 1 - Meet The Butane Torch class, taking place on Saturday, March 2nd at NW Rockhounds in Seattle, WA. This fundamentals class is perfect for beginners on a budget or those working in small studio spaces. Led by the experienced instructor, Christina Bengtson, participants will learn about the safety and proper use of the butane micro torch, an essential tool for any silversmith.

During this fast-paced class, students will explore different butane torch options and learn about basic fire equipment and metal cleaning solutions. Working with materials such as sterling silver, fine silver, and copper, participants will also develop valuable skills like flame control, metal gauging, annealing, work hardening, flattening, texturing, and shaping wire.

By the end of the class, students will leave with their own earrings and pendants crafted from their chosen metal. Please note that there is a kit fee of $10, payable to the instructor on the day of the class.

Space is limited, with a maximum of 6 students, so be sure to secure your spot in advance. Remember to check your email a few days prior to the class for any additional instructions. Masks are optional for this in-person event.

You can walk to the Seattle 520 Bridge from Bellevue, as shown in Figure 1. There is also a beautiful park and parking lot here. If you like to walk across the bridge, you can reach Seattle. If you like to take the bus, you can also do so. The bus station is just below the parking lot. There are many buses and the waiting time is not long. It is very convenient.

Especially when it&rsquo;s such a famous public university like the University of Washington. Gary Locke, former Microsoft chairman&hellip; they all graduated from UW. Bill Gates&rsquo; father, a well-known lawyer, once taught at its law school. Bruce Lee also studied here, and it was where he met his wife.

Later, I visited UW&rsquo;s Suzzallo Library&mdash;often referred to as the real-life &ldquo;Harry Potter Library.&rdquo; It grandeur rivals that of the Boston Public Library. The UW School of Medicine also ranks extremely high, consistently alongside Harvard and Stanford. Its programs in clinical medicine and public health are also highly ranked.
