When critics first saw Georges Seurat’s new style of painting, they thought it might bring about the death of painting itself. But what was it about artists like Paul Signac, Anna Boch, Jan Toorop and Henri-Edmond Cross, that ruffled so many feathers? Neo-Impressionists painted in small dots of pure colour. Viewed from a distance, the colours blend to create nuanced tones and an illusion of light. Now known as pointillism, this technique simplified form and played with colour in an entirely new way, verging on the edge of abstraction. Alongside this exciting approach to colour, their style went hand-in-hand with radical political ideas. They captured late 19th-century European society through luminous landscapes, portraits and interior scenes, while also depicting the struggles faced by the working class, in reaction against the industrial age. Most of the paintings we’re exhibiting were collected by Helene Kröller-Müller, one of the first great women art patrons of the 20th century. She assembled the most comprehensive ensemble of Neo-Impressionist paintings in the world. Collected with the aim of being publicly accessible, these works now form part of the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands, which Helene Kröller-Muller founded. one of the best art museums I&rsquo;ve been too. great variety of art , including Claude Monet, Van Gogh and many other artists that inspired their artwork too. was really enlightened by the history of art through the years and the paintings were really amazing to behold. too much to see and a clean organised museum. highly recommended. you do not need to pre book and can just walk in!

Today, I was fortunate to embark on a cultural journey across time and space under the guidance of teacher Diana, starting from the glorious civilization of ancient Egypt, as if I was riding a time machine and traveling through the history and art of all parts of the world.

Teacher Diana from Beijing is elegant and knowledgeable, as if the entire British Museum is her &quot;home&quot;. She knows every exhibit well, just like taking a walk in her own back garden, and every detail is at her fingertips. Her explanation is easy to understand, rigorous and professional, and full of fun, which makes people sigh at her profound knowledge and expression ability.

At the beginning, I was still worried that the three-hour guided tour would be too long, but soon found that the worry was completely unnecessary. Every minute was full of surprises and gains, time passed quickly, and in the end I felt that I was still not satisfied! If there is a chance, I will definitely sign up for a ten-hour or even longer in-depth tour without hesitation.

What impressed me more was the strong &quot;Beijing gene&quot; in teacher Diana. Her hearty atmosphere and humor made the whole explanation process both friendly and vivid, completely breaking the stereotype of traditional museum tours. When I listened to her explanation, I often couldn&#39;t help but smile while concentrating on the exhibits. It felt like listening to Song Dandan&#39;s jokes - interesting but thought-provoking.

As a museum lover, I always believe that an excellent guide can make a museum shine with a new charm. And Teacher Diana is the kind of person who can make a museum &quot;alive&quot;.
