The William Rockhill Nelson Museum of Art is located in Kansas City, Missouri. The museum broke ground in 1930 and opened to the public for the first time in 1933. It is one of the largest art museums in the Midwest of the United States. Because it was in the Great Depression at the time, a large number of precious artworks were dumped at low prices in the global art market, and there were few buyers. Therefore, the museum acquired a large number of artworks in a very short period of time, establishing its position in art museums.
The collections of the Nelson Museum of Art are mainly divided into Asian Department, European Paintings, American Paintings and Others. Among them, the Asian Department mainly collects and displays artworks from China, Japan, South Korea, India, Iran and Southeast Asian countries. Its heavyweight Chinese paintings mainly include Dong Qichang&#39;s &quot;Ancient Landscape Album&quot;, Li Cheng&#39;s &quot;Qingluan Xiaosi Tu&quot;, Ma Yuan&#39;s &quot;Xiyuan Yaji Tu&quot;, Shi Tao&#39;s &quot;Landscape Album Presented to Liu Shitou&quot;, Xu Daoning&#39;s &quot;Autumn River Fishing Boat (Fisherman Singing in the Evening)&quot;, Zhao Ji (Song Huizong)&#39;s &quot;Four Birds&quot; and so on.
