Experience L.A. presents "Fat Ham" at the Andrus Gerontology Center in Los Angeles on April 17, 2024. USC students can immerse themselves in the city's vibrant culture through this Pulitzer Prize-winning adaptation of Hamlet. In this unique take, Juicy, a young, queer Black man, faces a Shakespearean conundrum when his deceased father's ghost appears at a family event demanding vengeance. Directed by Saheem Ali, this production debuted at the Public Theater in 2022, made its way to Broadway in 2023, and now arrives in Los Angeles. The Geffen Playhouse, a staple in the local theater scene since 1995, hosts this event known for its mix of classic and contemporary plays. This free event is exclusively for current USC students, who must register in advance and utilize provided transportation. Limited space is available for this enriching experience, with check-in starting at 6 p.m. and buses departing at 6:45 p.m. Dinner will be served.
