Animal Experience Day - SECONDARY SCH SESSION | Cheltenham Animal Shelter
Cultural Experiences
Our Animal Day sessions are a unique opportunity for young people to learn about responsible pet ownership in a fun, relaxed environment.
Our three-hour Animal Experience sessions are a unique opportunity for young people aged 12-16 years old to attend the shelter during the school holidays to meet our animals and learn about responsible pet ownership and pet safety in a fun, relaxed environment.
This session is aimed for young people aged 12-16 (secondary school students.) If the young person is in year 7, but has not had their 12th birthday, they are welcome to book onto the session.
The session follows the same fun and engaging format as our regular experience days, but are specially designed for older students, allowing them to attend alongside others of a similar age.
During the session, the attendees will learn about how to safely interact with our pets and understand their behaviour, prepare animal enrichment items, as well as experiencing animal interactions with some of our rescue animals which includes dogs, cats, and small animals.
*Please note animals participating on our Animal interaction sessions are dependent on what suitable animals we have at the time of the session*
These sessions are perfect for young people who love animals or are considering a future career working with them.
Please note whilst parents are not permitted to stay our sessions are inclusive and cater for all disabilities and additional requirements. Therefore if 1:1 support is required for attendance parents/ guardians are of course welcome to attend.
