The 21st Gathering – The Sperrins / Na Speiríní | Silverbrook Mill
Cultural Experiences
Theme: Bogland • Water • Mountains
Join us in the Sperrins Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a powerful day of connection, conversation and community.
What is The Gathering?
The Gathering isn’t just one group. It’s a coming together of campaigns, communities and people from across the region.
It brings together those who care deeply about our environment, our water, our mountains and peatlands, and the future of our communities. It’s about shared voices, shared knowledge and collective strength.
The Gathering connects grassroots campaigns, local people and organisations so they can support each other, learn from each other and stand together on the issues that matter most.
At its heart, it’s about connection between people, place and purpose.
Events like this are about building momentum, strengthening networks and reminding each other that we are not alone.
For the first time, the Gathering comes to the Sperrins, bringing people together from north, south and further afield to reflect on what is happening in this special landscape and across the island, while celebrating the communities, culture and natural heritage of this place.
Hosted at Silverbrook Mill, Donemana / Dunamanagh, this year’s Gathering takes place in a truly special setting. Silverbrook is an important heritage site at the entrance to a wooded gorge of the River Dennett, surrounded by oak, birch, ash and wildflowers. With a history stretching back to at least the 1700s, and unique as the only known mill complex of its kind in Ireland, it offers a remarkable place to gather, reflect and connect.
