Featured Events in Limerick in 2025 (June Updated)

The Great Limerick Run is a mass participation sporting event held in Limerick. Limerick is Ireland's third largest City and is the hub of social, cultural, and economic activity in the Mid West. Located on the banks of the majestic river Shannon. It is about encouraging individuals to compete and achieve their personal goals. The inclusiveness of the event with three separate races has captured the attention of people across all social and demographic backgrounds. From the young to senior citizens, competitive athletes to occasional runners or walkers. The Great Limerick Run is now the fastest growing participatory event in Ireland.

The 41st EVA International will take place across venues in Limerick city, from August 29 through to October 26, 2025. It will feature a ‘Guest Programme' curated by Eszter Szakács in collaboration with the EVA team, including a number of new commissions and presentations by Irish and international artists. Titled It Takes a Village, the programme borrows from the proverb ‘It takes a village to raise a child' to focus on ideas of collaborative partnership, social justice and historical repair. This will be presented alongside a series of EVA Platform Commissions that respond to ideas and definitions of access, selected by Iarlaith Ní Fheorais and Roy Claire Potter.
