Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) is the largest fashion week in Northern Europe and takes place twice a year in January/February and August. The first Copenhagen Fashion Week took place in 2006 when the Danish clothing trade fairs Dansk Modeuge and Dansk Herremodeuge merged, with its history dating back to 1950. Each season, Copenhagen Fashion Week features four days of shows, presentations and events, as well as the two trade shows CIFF and Revolver. This exhibition begins with the Palmyra funerary portraits from the Griptotec Museum's collection. These portraits, once inlaid on the walls of magnificent family tombs, offer a rare perspective on how the Palmyras wished to be remembered: cosmopolitan citizens, adorned with dazzling jewelry, exquisitely styled, and dressed in luxurious textiles. The bilingual inscriptions in Aramaic and Greek further attest to the reality of social identity transcending language and culture at that time.
