Miserable Faith 2026「The World Will Be Better²」Europe Tour | The Button Factory

Miserable Faith 2026「The World Will Be Better²」Europe Tour | The Button Factory

Mar 22, 2026 (UTC)
Dublin
Concerts
Following their debut UK tour in 2017, the 2024 European circuit, and the 2025 second European tour, Miserable Faith embarks on their third European expedition under the banner "The World Will Be Better²," illuminating even more cities on their touring map. This time, Miserable Faith moves beyond replicating classical narratives reminiscent of church stained glass, transforming instead into modern troubadours. They will explore Europe’s sonic codes—navigating the Kafkaesque labyrinths of Prague, embracing the New Nordic aesthetics of Copenhagen, delving into the eco-utopian visions of Stockholm, and resonating with the spirit of rebel pubs in Dublin. All boundaries of civilization are but temporary walls awaiting dismantlement. Carrying the raw, gritty sounds forged along the banks of the Yellow River, they will harmonize with the wistful longing of the Vltava. Music requires no translation—it will ultimately arrive in the same quadrant, united in the chorus of "The World Will Be Better²."

Dublin
Exhibitions
A world-renowned abstract painter, Sean Scully is one of the leading artists of his generation. He is best known for his impactful and internationally recognisable paintings balancing dynamic bands of colour in rhythmic formulations, capturing tonality, light and mood with great drama and delicacy. His global but deeply personal perspective has seen him absorb the core elements of the visual world – from the sky and sea to the ascetic modesty of stone architectural structures – as well as the full spectrum of human pathos, from grief and pain to fatherhood. Scully’s art is highly physical, often monumental in scale and populated by vigorous, robust shape and form, and yet it is also an art of great honesty, intimacy, and even vulnerability. An abstractionist but not a formalist, Scully deploys the power of colour, depth and volume not only to give expression to the world around him, but to provide access to the spiritual domain. In recent years, the artist’s explorations of space and volume have continued into large-scale sculptural works – monumental and megalithic-feeling stone blocks that weigh down on the land, as well as airy structures in Corten steel that open up and interact with the landscape. Across these diverse approaches to making art, Scully utilises a consciously constrained system to open up an energetic multiplicity of aesthetic possibility and emotional range.

Maurice Marinot (1882–1960) was a French artist renowned for redefining the expressive potential of glassmaking. This in-focus exhibition showcases a selection of his works of art spanning from the 1900s to the 1950s. Marinot infused the intense colours of his earlier paintings into stunning glass objects, including vases, flagons, bowls, and paperweights - earning him the title ‘Le Fauve de Verre (The Wild Beast of Glass).’ The works on display, never before exhibited in the Gallery, along with a range of drawings and glass designs, will reveal his pioneering contribution to the world of glass. The display will also honour the significant gift made to the Gallery by his daughter in the 1970s.
