Looking to take your hand spun yarns to the next step? Come along to my introduction to Plying Workshop where I will guide you through the various techniques from basic 2 ply yarn to art yarns. We will also look at the purpose of plying and how to measure the balance of yarn. Skill level: This workshop is suitable for advanced beginner or those wishing to expand their existing skills. this workshop will cover the following plying techniques: Standard 2-Ply Chain Plying Spiral Ply Cable Intro to art yarn plying A fun and friendly workshop with a group of like-minded creatives. All materials are provided as well as refreshments. There will be spinning wheels to use for the workshop, however you are welcome to bring your own spinning wheel. (Please let us know if you are bringing your own wheel so that we can offer an additonal place) We truly belive creativity has a huge positive effect on your wellbeing! Cancellation and a full refund (less the non refundable booking fee) can be obtained up to 30 days before the course starts. In exceptional circumstances we will try to rearrange another date. Workshops are subject to a minimum booking number to run and may need to be cancelled or rebooked if numbers are too low or if we need to cancel due to staff issues or covid. Along the way, you’ll hear snippets of Yorkshire’s canal history and working boat traditions, adding a touch of heritage to a thoroughly laid-back day on the water. A 1 hour rest stop will be arranged on route, but feel free to bring your own food and drink. *This is a one way journey to The Navigation Inn, Calder Grove, so your own transport back to Stanley Ferry will need to be arranged. 4.75 mile fully marshalled run mainly off-road through the beautiful, undulating countryside of Little Eaton and Coxbench. This brilliant event kicks off Little Eaton's Carnival Week every year. It attracts a wide range of runners of all ages and abilities. There are prizes for first man and woman aged 16 and above and also age group prizes (16-39, 40-49, 50-59, over 60) for both men and women. Mainly though it's a friendly run through beautiful countryside in a supportive community. Come to compete or just come to enjoy it.
