His music is influenced by Blues, Free Jazz, 20th and 21st century classical music, World Music and R&B... Mr. Kasavan has worked with many notable musicians including Don Covay, Bill Laswell, Willie Bobo, Bootsy Collins, the Last Poets, African Vocalist “Mangala”, and was co-curator/performer/composer of the Whitney Museum’s “80 Fingers” duo piano festival. Mr. Kasavan is the founder of the Fingers DelRay Band, performing original blues, and has also worked as a pianist for some of the most prominent modern dance companies in New York City including Martha Graham, Ballet Hispanico, Alvin Ailey and Paul Taylor. The San Diego Rowing Club (SDRC) warmly welcomes athletes of all ages to participate in a free Learn to Row Day event. Taking place on September 24th, 2023, the event offers two sessions for different age groups. The first session, from 9:00am to 10:00am, is exclusively for high school students in grades 8-12. Following this, the second session from 10:00am to 11:00am is open to adults. During the Learn to Row Day, participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of rowing, both on land and on the water. They will receive instruction on using the rowing machine, commonly known as the ergometer or "erg." Additionally, participants will learn about boat parts, launch boats, and experience rowing in the picturesque Mission Bay. To ensure a smooth experience, all participants are requested to arrive ten minutes prior to their session start time. The first session will feature a detailed timeline, including sign-in and introductions, erg training, boat parts introduction, on-water rowing, and boat cleaning.
