The event kicks off at 5:00 p.m. with a delightful Dinner Reception, where you can indulge in a delectable meal before the action begins. The 2023 Winter Wiffle Classic, now in its second year, is set to take place at Hermosa Drive Park in Fullerton, CA. This highly anticipated event offers participants the chance to compete for a cash prize, with rewards for both first and second place. In addition, there will be an exciting Homerun Derby. The tournament is a unique blend of fastpitch and backyard wiffleball, combining the rules of UWiff and SoCal WiffleBall. Here are the basic details of the tournament: It will span two action-packed days, December 30th and 31st. Day one will include pool play, the HR Derby, and the Survivor Round. Day two will feature the final 12 teams battling it out for the championship. Every team is guaranteed to play three games, and teams with a 0-3 record will be eliminated. On the other hand, teams with a flawless 3-0 record will move on to the final 12. The drawing for the random games will be streamed live on YouTube on December 28th at 8 pm PT. To ensure the safety of all participants, cleats are not allowed. However, turf shoes are permitted. It is essential to comply with this rule, as failure to do so may result in disqualification from the tournament. The regulations for bats dictate a maximum diameter of 2 3/4 inches, with the option to tape them for preservation. Cut balls are also permitted, following UWiffs rulebook guidelines. The mound will be set at 48 ft to the zone and 45 ft to the plate, mirroring the measurements of UWiffs. The first base will be located 45 ft from home, and the fence will be 90 ft to center, with the possibility of adjustments for left and right fields. The fair/foul line will measure 24 ft down the foul lines, with the center of the line being closer but not measured.
