2026 marks the 23rd China Pengzu Summer Lamb Festival. As a festival dedicated to the national intangible cultural heritage "Xuzhou Summer Lamb Food Customs," this year's festival officially kicks off on July 15th (the beginning of the first ten-day period of summer) and continues until August 14th (the end of the last ten-day period), lasting a full 31 days. A total of 18 large-scale themed cultural and tourism activities will be held throughout the city. The main venue is located at Pengzu Fuyang Street in the Hubei Road Sports Center, with branch venues covering Pengzu Garden, Yunlong Lake, Huilongwo, various night markets, and county-level lamb food streets. More than 4,300 lamb restaurants and 4,500 barbecue shops across the city will simultaneously offer special summer lamb banquets, making it the largest and most culturally rich summer food and cultural tourism extravaganza in the Huaihai Economic Zone.

The Cruise full of passengers departs from the Pengcheng Fenghua Visitor Center Pier, passing through 8 nodes, with a total route of 3.3 kilometers. Xuzhou's premiere of the immersive interactive play "It's Over! I'm Being Targeted by the Next Priest!" is set against the backdrop of an ancient Egyptian priestly succession conspiracy. The audience, in the role of temple agents, progress through character card selection, two-player puzzle solving, and NPC acting. The setting incorporates luminous scarab projections, hieroglyphic puzzle walls, and witty mummy props. As they pursue the unsolved case of their master's murder, they encounter nonsensical moments like Pharaoh's dry jokes and priestly rap battles. Combined with a blind box opening and curse reversal voting mechanism, the play creates a Xuzhou entertainment experience that combines brain-teasing reasoning with hilarious interactions.

You may have read about the father stumbling across the railway tracks to buy oranges for his son in "Back Figure," or savored the hazy, tranquil beauty of "Moonlight over the Lotus Pond." Now, these images, frozen in words, will be brought to life on stage through the dancers' body language. The dance drama "Zhu Ziqing" was produced by Yangzhou Song and Dance Theater and directed by national choreographer Liu Xiaohe and Zhang Disha, winner of 16 domestic and international awards. It won the 12th China Dance "Lotus Award" Dance Drama Award, the 2020 Zijin Culture and Art Festival Outstanding Drama Award, the Outstanding Performance Award and many other honors. The play is based on Zhu Ziqing's review of his life. It uses a freehand and highly dramatic style to link together Zhu Ziqing's important life moments with his representative works such as "Back Figure", "Moonlight over the Lotus Pond" and "Haste", leading the audience to follow the dancer's footsteps and find a real Zhu Ziqing.
