Le Centre culturel Jean-Cocteau inaugure, jeudi 26 septembre (17h-22h), sa nouvelle « GRANDE » saison d’art contemporain par une exposition qui invite onze artistes de différentes générations à questionner ce que signifie grandir. Grandir dans les clous ou s’y piquer ? Avancer sur les rails ou s’échapper sur un chemin de traverse ? Partant du mot d’ordre que chacun·e d’entre nous s’est entendu dire au moins une fois, “Quand tu seras grande aborde le poids des injonctions dont les jeunes, les femmes et les minorités sont principalement accablé·es au cours de leur vie, attendu·es au tournant de la réussite et de l’accomplissement. L’exposition témoigne tout autant de l’importance de la transmission, tendre et confiante, parfois douloureuse, qui nourrit au fil du temps les familles de sang et choisies. Comment se construit-on vis-à-vis d’un entourage parfois contraignant et de notre passé ? Comme une porte qui claque, « quand tu seras grande » est souvent la réponse qui clôt toute discussion, au même titre que « c’est pour ton bien ». Cette façon qu’ont les adultes de protéger les enfants, mais aussi d’exercer une forme de contrôle, déterminerait l’enfance comme un état transitoire avant d’accéder aux privilèges de l’âge. La contrainte ou l’attente qu’implique l’expression « quand tu seras grande » peut aussi être teintée d’amour et d’attention. Dans ce cas, c’est une manière de se projeter à plusieurs dans un futur à venir, à espérer et d’apprendre à patienter. La salle d’attente de l’âge adulte est peuplée de rêves, d’héros et d’héroïnes, d’échanges, de déchirements, de souvenirs et de talismans.
