Donations will be accepted on the evening of the show.Pedalling from venue to venue with all of their set, props and costumes on the back of their bikes, the HandleBards are a four-strong troupe of actors who are spending the summer bringing environmentally sustainable Shakespeare to venues across the UK. Join the troupe at Hatton Castle for a bicycle-powered production of Shakespeare’s ‘The Comedy of Errors’ like you’ve never seen before. When two sets of estranged twins are brought together on the same island, this classic comedy takes hold, with mistaken identity, music and manic costume changes a plenty. This is an outdoor production, so please bring a chair or blanket to sit on, a picnic to dig into, and dress for the weather! Notes on Performance – Doors open at 4pm, so bring a picnic and come and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. – Chairs, picnics, blankets and any other low level accessories are welcome. – In case of rain, please don’t bring umbrellas as they block sight-lines for other audience members. We are beyond excited to have booked one of the trailblazers on the Scottish jazz-folk scene: Matt Carmichael And as you maybe know, we are in a golden age of jazz music in Scotland where players like Matt, together with Mercury Prize nominees, Fergus McCreadie and Liam Shortall of corto.alto are receiving critical acclaim with a global reach. His most recent album 'Dancing with Embers' has recently been released and will be available at the show including in vinyl. Heralded by BBC Music Magazine as 'a distinctive new voice in a crowded scene’, saxophonist and composer Matt's compositions are a powerfully emotive blend of Jazz and Folk music. He has performed throughout Europe, at Celtic Connections, Ronnie Scott’s, Love Supreme, Bimhuis as well as being a guest soloist with the Grammy Award winning WDR Big Band in Germany where his music was arranged by Bob Mintzer. He is also a lynchpin in the seriously talented Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, led by Tommy Smith. Some of the musicians Matt has collaborated with include Fergus McCreadie, Rob Luft, Bob Mintzer, WDR Big Band, corto.alto, Charlie Stewart, Brìghde Chaimbeul, Kathleen MacInness, Liv Andrea Hauge, Innes White, Juliette Lemoine, Kim Carnie and Rachel Sermanni. Shark School returns with a focused pre-season rugby development programme designed to prepare young players for the upcoming season. The event is split into two age groups: Juniors (P4–P7) and Youths (U13–U16) , ensuring all participants receive age-appropriate coaching that supports their stage of development. Each group will take part in three 2-hour sessions delivered by experienced coaches. Sessions will focus on core rugby skills tailored to each age group, such as passing, tackling technique, evasion, and game awareness. In addition, players will benefit from strength and conditioning (S&C) and fitness training , helping them build the physical foundation necessary for a successful and injury-free season. The programme also promotes teamwork, discipline, and confidence on and off the field, making it a valuable part of every player's rugby journey. Whether a beginner or returning player, Shark School is a great opportunity to re-engage with rugby, improve skills, and enjoy a fun, structured learning environment.
