This class will build on the skills learned in Levels 1 and 2, pushing students to make more grounded, sustaining improv scene choices. This course will be taught by Shannon Poulsen, Director of Curriculum and cast member in TBD: The Improvised Musical! and Ladies Who Lounge. The course meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm-9:00pm for a total of six class sessions. Class will NOT take place on November 5th (Election Day). Classes will take place in either our Hashtag Comedy Club (1253 N. High Street) or an alternative location. You will be informed at least two weeks prior to the class of the final location. Students will perform in an improv showcase after the classes are completed. The showcase for this course will take place November 19th from 8:00pm-9:00pm in our Hashtag Comedy Theatre (1253 N. High Street). In addition to classes and a showcase, students will also receive a complimentary ticket to a Hashtag Comedy show. Students must have completed Level 2 in our curriculum. ABOUT: Come join us for a fun-filled afternoon of sketch acting with the talented Ervin J Ross! This course will be focused on teaching script breakdown, character building, and connection to the material to create memorable performances on or off-camera. The course meets once for three hours. REQUIREMENTS: Intermediate improv skills and/or sketch acting experience ABOUT ERVIN: Ervin Ross is a Meisner trained actor who performed the role of Rodney Scott in the critically acclaimed Apple+ show Five Days At Memorial. He has performed in contract or recurring roles in 35 national and streaming TV shows including: I Think You Should Leave, New Girl and Grey's Anatomy. Ervin studied Music Education and Journalism at Ohio University. In 2010, he moved to Los Angeles and began studying at prominent improv schools including: Upright Citizens Brigade, The Groundlings and Improv Olympics West. He is currently working on developing a sitcom partially inspired by his youth called (PoorChoices.com) and just finished working on a SAG-AFTRA film called Down To The Felt.
