"ULTRA JAPAN" is the Japanese version of the world's largest urban dance music festival "ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL" (UMF), which originated in Miami, USA in 1999. The Akishima City Whale Festival's Dream Fireworks, which began in 1961 to commemorate the discovery of a whale fossil dating back approximately 1.6 million years in Akishima City, has become a summer tradition in Tokyo's Akishima City. This year marks the 54th edition of the fireworks display, featuring approximately 4,000 fireworks (mainly starburst fireworks) that illuminate the sky over about 30 minutes. Before the fireworks display, a parade featuring whale-shaped floats winds through the city, adding to the festive atmosphere. Around the event venue, stalls from local businesses and organizations line the streets, offering food, games, and homemade local delicacies. As a pioneer in autumn fireworks displays, the Northern District Fireworks Festival RED×BLUE SPARKLE GATE will host an event in 2026 themed "Love - The Light of Emotion -". The magnificent view against the backdrop of the Red Water Gate, a National Important Cultural Property, and the dazzling fireworks create a unique and captivating atmosphere in the Northern District. In addition to the spectacular performance by Margo Fireworks, hailed as the "magicians of fireworks," Akagi Fireworks, renowned for its innovative drone performances, will also present a spectacular fireworks display combining dynamic lights and stunning sound effects.

The "Kuroku Matsuri" (Bukuro Festival) began in 1968 and is a festival initiated and organized by four shops near the west exit of Ikebukuro Station. This year marks its 59th edition. During the portable shrine procession, 15 large portable shrines and thousands of people carrying their hands gather near the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, creating a grand spectacle. The lively shouts will echo throughout the city, immersing the audience in the festive atmosphere. Song and dance performances will also be held at Ikebukuro West Exit Park. The first Asakusa Samba Carnival parade began on August 29, 1981. Since then, through repeated trials and tribulations, it has become a summer tradition in Asakusa, attracting approximately 500,000 spectators. In 2026, the Asakusa Samba Carnival will celebrate its 41st anniversary. After reaching this important milestone of 40 years, it will stride towards a new future.
