We are offering you the opportunity to see all the military has to offer at Sandown Park at our Military Career Inspiration Day (MCID). It is run in collaboration with the Grand Military Day when the Armed Forces come together and where their riders enjoy some of the non-work opportunities available to them and compete for the Gold Cup in front of their patron, HRH Princess Royal.
We invite you to join us at the MCID to hear from our motivational speakers and our Patron and see what is in a military career for you. You will hear from serving soldiers, get hand on the kit, use simulators and see the opportunities the Military provides its people at play from football to para-gliding to horse racing.

The Career Inspiration Day is a free curriculum enrichment event. Held during term-time and coinciding with a military raceday. It will provide an excellent insight into the professional and personal development opportunities offered by the military and shows off the ceremonial aspects of military service. Subjects covered will include apprenticeships, educational qualifications, roles, trades, sport, adventurous training, travel and more besides.
It is appropriate for people with a wide range of backgrounds and interests. It will meet the needs of pupils studying vocational qualifications (the Army alone has 13,100 in its apprenticeship programme at any one time) or those doing A Levels, or undergraduate degrees. Your students will find something here that will inspire, inform or interest them.
Our programme includes inspirational speakers, interactive equipment displays, and real soldiers talking in their own authentic way about representing what the Military has to offer, at work and at play.

Two entirely different film programmes will be featured in Dorking on the 2026 Banff Tour - the RED and BLUE programmes. The Red Film Programme will be shown on 10 February, and the Blue Film Programme will be shown on 10 March.
