2026 marks the 21st year of Helsinki Design Week, an annual event featuring over 250 activities, including open studios and showrooms, exhibitions, lectures, fashion shows, and parties. The festival explores industrial design, product design, interior design, fashion design, textile design, digital design, graphic design, as well as architecture, urban planning, and the use of materials. Helsinki Design Week 2026 will be held from August 28 to September 6, 2026, at multiple locations in Helsinki, Finland.

The Helsinki Festival, the largest arts festival in Northern Europe, is held annually in late summer. The festival aims to make art accessible to everyone. The program encompasses classical and world music, theatre, dance, circus, and visual arts, as well as a range of city events. The festival's artistic director is Johanna Freundlich. The 2026 Helsinki Festival will run from August 18 to September 5. Highlights of this year's festival include: the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra performing the opera *The Great Macab* with international soloists; a concert by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and renowned pianist Lin Yunchuan; and the play *Silence* performed at the Schaubühne Berlin. The Huvera Stage will host performances by artists such as Katie Melua and Camigno.

The Helsinki Circus Festival, making its debut in September 2026, will showcase the full spectrum of Finnish circus art! This year's festival will present the rich diversity of contemporary Finnish circus. Audiences can enjoy 13 spectacular circus performances, encompassing street circus, performing arts, tent circus, comedy, modern circus, new magic, and children's shows. This artist-centric festival centers on the Finnish circus community. Organized by Pro Sirkus ry, a consortium of contemporary Finnish circus groups and artists, and in collaboration with Cirko—the new circus center—and the cultural centers of Caisa and Stoa, the festival will also feature performances in a large domed tent in the center of the Suvilahti field and in the surrounding street area.
