5.0Our first cruise trip with our family of five was fantastic! First and foremost, a huge thank you to our tour guide, Li Zheng. We'd always traveled independently before, so this was our first time on a group tour. Li Zheng was incredibly kind and patient, with a vast knowledge of everything from astronomy to geography. Listening to her explain various aspects of European history was far more interesting than any history class we'd ever attended. When we met other Chinese tour guides at the hotel, they were nothing compared to her! Even my mom said she'd definitely book a tour with Li Zheng next time. The second pleasant surprise was that we were given an extra room on the cruise. We were supposed to be three people sharing a room, but when we got our tickets, we discovered one of us had a single room, so the room wasn't cramped at all. The only downside was that the beds on the cruise were quite small, which wasn't ideal for us accustomed to the large beds in Chinese dorms. The two days of land travel were quite a lot of driving; European traffic is terrible. It would have been perfect if we had done the land travel first and then gone on the ship. In short, thank you, Li Zheng! 5 stars!

4.0The MSC Splendida is an older model, launched in the early 2000s. It used to serve routes to Japan and South Korea, but now it mainly operates in the Mediterranean. Therefore, there is Chinese signage on board. The facilities are average, the attractions are basic, the swimming pool is small, and the buffet mainly offers Western food like burgers, pizzas, and salads without any fancy dishes. The main restaurant's food is also average. The service staff are somewhat snobbish. The ship is predominantly frequented by European and American tourists, the atmosphere is pleasant, and order is well maintained; there are generally no queues for boarding and disembarking, but the elevator wait times are long. This time, I was traveling with elderly family members and mainly focused on the shore excursions. The tour leader was adequate, but the itinerary was a bit rushed. Overall, if you don't have high expectations, it's acceptable.

5.0Overall, it was pretty good. But the experience of leaving the ship at the end was really bad. We waited two hours for our luggage, which made us miss our train. Next time, I'll just carry my own luggage.

4.0The ten-year-old cruise ship needed its return trip for maintenance, and overall it was in good condition. However, the shower curtains in the bathroom were really annoying; they would stick to my body every time I showered. The service and food on board were quite good, and everyone was friendly and smiling, making for a very comfortable experience. I love the tranquility of cruise ships; no need to rush, no need to worry about the hustle and bustle of the outside world—it's so relaxing!

5.0Tour guide Li Zheng is beautiful and kind-hearted; I'll definitely join her on the next tour! The food on the cruise was plentiful, and getting on and off the ship was smooth every day. The trip wasn't tiring at all. I'll definitely book a cruise tour again next time.

3.0The cruise ship is getting old, and the interior facilities are a bit dated. There are very few recreational facilities for children, especially the two swimming pools, which are quite small and lack slides or anything like that. When it's crowded, it's like being in a dumpling-like situation. However, the European management team is very effective; the cleanliness is excellent, and the service is attentive. The buffet restaurant has a wide variety of dishes, and there's plenty to eat at any time. The pizzas are freshly baked and delicious. The bars have a great atmosphere in the evenings, but there are simply too few places suitable for children to play.

5.0For this trip, our family of four opted for the MSC YCHAT CLUB membership service without hesitation, and it was absolutely great value. We enjoyed exclusive member services for all three meals, accommodations, and transportation, with a dedicated butler available at our beck and call. Our butler, Agung, was Asian, and he helped find our child's lost belongings several times on the ship. Considering the number of passengers on an 18-story cruise ship, the level of attentive service was remarkable. The food and service at Olivo restaurant were top-notch; we were immediately captivated from our first visit. The restaurant always reserved a private seat for us, with a dedicated service manager and server assigned to each of us – it was an incredibly pleasant experience.

4.0This was my sixth time taking an international cruise. The food on this cruise was the worst ever – limited variety and poor taste. Also, there was an extra charge for the shuttle bus after disembarking. The service was mediocre. I will never fly with MSC again.
You need a passport valid for your destinations (typically at least 6 months beyond the voyage – check your boarding info), your cruise boarding pass, and any required visas. Depending on your nationality, extra ID (e.g., residence permit) may be needed. Confirm with embassies and your cruise line before departure.
