The car was very clean, and it seemed like they washed it immediately after return, so it felt trustworthy. It didn't smell bad either, which was great. However, the navigation system was only equipped in Japanese, so I had to use my phone. The car was equipped with features like lane departure warning, which was good for keeping me occupied when I was confused, but the lanes in Japan are narrow, so the steering wheel locked up too often... Still, it was a very fun and good experience.

Even though I didn't purchase an ETC card, a toll ticket was issued when entering the ETC-only lanes on the highway. I was able to pay with the ticket at my destination.
