I purchased full insurance coverage expecting proper protection and peace of mind, but the experience with this insurance company was disappointing.
After a minor incident (mirror to mirror slight grazed) with no visible damage, I was informed that a “bodily injury claim” had been made. However, no clear documentation or proof of injury was provided at any point.
Despite having full coverage, I still had to pay around 500,000 KRW (~$480 SGD) out of pocket, as the claim was not fully reimbursed. This defeats the purpose of paying extra for comprehensive insurance.
The claims process was also slow.It took about a month to receive a response via email,and I had to repeatedly send follow-ups just to get updates, which added unnecessary stress. The car rental company did a great job,they were responsive and helped provide the necessary documents promptly.Be careful when driving overseas, as situations like this can become complicated and costly. Locals might take advantage of rentals.
