This valuable vehicle served as my reliable transportation for four days on New Zealand's South Island, without any time constraints. Its condition was excellent, with mileage around 15,000 km. The pickup, return, and pick-up procedures were simple. However, it is undesirable that they demanded additional insurance, claiming tire damage is separate, even though I purchased full coverage. I initially signed up for full coverage with deductibles in mind, even if it were more expensive; it is upsetting to hear that there is an exception for damage—not just a fine—even though the price was the same. I also hope they rectify the issue of providing a loaner vehicle of a different class. I should have specified the vehicle name from the start, but being asked to choose from a completely different lineup is like reserving Adidas shoes and getting Nike instead. This is something that needs to be reconsidered.

We hired an SUV from Discount Car Rental for our Christchurch–Queenstown trip, and overall the experience was smooth and reliable. Pick‑up at Christchurch was easy — the staff contacted us directly on WhatsApp and arranged a shuttle, which made the process very convenient. The only downside was that the staff weren’t very helpful in teaching us how to install the snow chains, so we had to learn from YouTube instead. The SUV itself performed well, and using the chains to drive up to The Remarkables ski area went without any issues. Returning the car in Queenstown was also straightforward, with just a small wait for the shuttle to the airport afterward. A good, hassle‑free rental option for travelling around the South Island.

The vehicle condition and the pickup and return process were very convenient, but I was dissatisfied due to an issue with the snow chains I rented. I rented them just in case because it recently snowed on the South Island, but some parts were missing, rendering them unusable. I contacted them, and fortunately, the branch delivered a replacement to my location free of charge. Aside from that, the rest of the process was very smooth, and thanks to their kind guidance and quick responses via email, I was able to resolve the issue and enjoy my trip.

BYD Sealion 6
WE LOVE IT SO MUCH! It was our first time driving a byd sealion and it was the best experience ever. The drive was smooth and sturdy, engine was strong but we could barely hear the engine going. Seats were spacious, car was clean, roof was retractable, and because it was hybrid it was fuel saving, we didn’t have to pump very frequently. Staff at the counter was friendly and informative.
