The Philippines is open to all fully vaccinated foreign nationals. Provided travelers meet the requirements for vaccination, they can visit without the need to undergo quarantine. In addition to foreign visitors, Filipinos and recognized foreign family members are allowed to return to the Philippines regardless of their vaccination status. Unvaccinated travelers who fall into this category may have to undergo quarantine, however.

All travelers 12 years of age or older must have proof they have completed a full vaccination regimen using a COVID-19 vaccine approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO). To qualify, travelers must have received all required doses at least 14 days prior to their intended departure. This means both doses of a 2-dose vaccine or a completed single dose vaccine. The Philippines does not require a so-called "booster" shot. Travelers must show proof of vaccination in one of the following ways:

Travelers who were vaccinated abroad should check with the Philippines Department of Tourism to ensure their vaccine certificates are recognized for travel to the Philippines. Unvaccinated children under 12 years of age are permitted to enter the Philippines provided they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or guardian.

All travelers must have proof of a negative result for COVID-19 issued no more than 48 hours prior to departure using a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test, or no more than 24 hours prior to departure using a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) test performed by an accredited medical services provider. An antigen self-test kit is not acceptable for entry into the Philippines.

Foreign short-term visitors must have proof of travel insurance valid for use in the Philippines for the entire duration of their intended stay. The minimum coverage amount must be at least US$35,000 and must cover all costs associated with the testing and treatment of COVID-19.

All travelers must register online using the OneHealthPass system no more than 3 days prior to departure and obtain a QR code necessary when boarding transportation bound for the Philippines. Travelers are required to submit the following information during the registration process:

Beyond specific COVID-19 travel restrictions, travelers should also confirm whether they need a visa to visit the Philippines. Most travelers are eligible for visa-free entry for stays not exceeding 30 days. Travelers should ensure their passports have at least six months remaining validity. Manila is the national capital and the Philippines' largest city. Visitors arriving from abroad will likely land first in Manila. From there it's easy to book domestic flights to smaller resort destinations. Travelers often elect to skip Manila in their dash for the beach. This is a mistake as Manila has quite a lot to offer. In Intramuros, visitors can explore Spanish-era colonial fortifications, Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral, and San Agustin Church. Afterwards, you can tour the National Museum of Natural History or the National Museum of Anthropology. Once you've had your fill, find time for a little shopping or explore the nightlife in Bonifacio Global City. The trendy area is home to lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars. If you have a bit more time, consider taking a day trip north on Luzon Island to visit the stunning Banaue Rice Terraces.

This comparatively tiny island packs a mighty punch. Located off the northern top of Panay, Boracay has long been known to have some of the world's best beaches. The island's reputation as a resort travel destination is well deserved. Just over 6 square miles (10 square kilometers) in area, Boracay is packed with resorts. The island's oblong shape guarantees you're never far from the shore. White Beach along the central island is popular as is Puka Shell Beach in the north. Pricier resort accommodations offer direct beach access or other amenities like infinity pools and exclusive areas. Hike up Mount Luho for spectacular views and to get a lay of the land. You'll see the sands extending out as azure waters roll in waves up the beach.

Cebu is a long, narrow island stretching some 120 mi (193 km) north to south. It is popular for its beaches, coral reefs, and rich fishing waters. Cebu City is the island’s principal transportation hub. Take a trip out to Budlaan Fall, a lovely little waterfall easily accessible from central Cebu City. Along the way you can enjoy spectacular tropical scenery, lush forests, and incredible meadows. From Cebu, you can head to Moalboal, which sits on the Tañon Strait to the southwest. The strait's sheltered waters make for excellent swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Tour companies in town can help you find operators offering a range of packages and excursions. The famous sardine run is quite popular. Dive into a sardine swarm and watch as countless fish churn under the waves.

Bohol is a prized diving location. The waters here contain a wondrous aquatic landscape. On land, visitors can explore historic churches, see cute tarsier monkeys, and enjoy the island's beautiful natural scenery. Bohol's Chocolate Hills are iconic landmarks and have featured in many films and television shows. Tagbilaran City is the main point of entry for those arriving from other parts of the Philippines. The small Panglao Island is connected via two bridges to Tagbilaran City and is a great place to explore. The city's Alona Beach is a popular venue for diving or snorkeling amongst the coral reefs. Don't miss the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary and your chance to explore Balicasag Island with its famous Black Forest Dive Site.

Palawan Island is known locally as "Heaven on Earth" and travelers who venture here cannot help but to agree. El Nido sits on the northern tip of Palawan Island, roughly 260 mi (420 km) southwest of Manila. Towering limestone formations enclose great bays filled with emerald and sapphire waters. Schools of multicolored aquatic life swim in pristine currents, which are largely protected against development. El Nido's reputation has grown in recent years after ranking as one of the world's top beaches, yet it still retains an exquisite charm and local flavor. El Nido is a jewel in any traveler's belt. It is, indeed, nothing short of heavenly.

Mindanao in the southern Philippines is somewhat removed from the country's popular resort areas such as Boracay or Cebu. This shouldn't deter travelers looking for adventure, however. Great Santa Cruz Island, located just off Zamboanga City, features a fantastic pink sand beach that draws attention to this small corner of the Philippines. The island’s prime attraction, not surprisingly, is its stunning beach. Centuries upon centuries of constant ocean churn have ground down organ pipe coral, giving the sands their distinctive pink hue. Accommodation on Great Santa Cruz Island is limited so you will probably want to day trip over from Zamboanga.

As the Philippines' reputation for world-class travel continues to grow, more people are venturing to this wonderful country.
