The best and most famous attraction in Athens.It is the most significant historical location in Athens. It is where all the main ruins are.



This is the most important attraction in Athens and it is a must see...You do learn a lot about history and you get to enjoy great views but it is not amazing or wow but definitely better than average.



The Theatre of Hirod Atticus and the Column of Patten, however, the Column of the Acropolis is not real. The Column of the Acropolis Museum and... The British Museum is like most Greek temples, and the temple is used as a vault. 1, built in 447 BC to replace the old Parthenon (destroyed in 480 BC by Persians). 2, for a while was the treasure of the Tyrolean alliance (later turned into the Athenian Empire). In the 6th century, Patnon was converted to a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary (the formerly dedicated Athena was also a virgin). 4. In the early 1460s, after being conquered by the Ottoman Turks, it was used as a mosque. In 1687, it was used as a gunpowder bank by the Turkish army and was unfortunately badly damaged in an explosion. By 1800, only half of the statues of Patnon had survived, and British Ambassador Sir Erkin, after obtaining the approval of the Ottoman government, began to transport half of the surviving statues back to the UK at his own expense from 1801, and began to be displayed in the British Museum from 1817.



This is a must see for any history buff and anyone interested in learning Greek history. The price of admittance is acceptable and you have the opportunity to see and read many things. Superb museum!
